11.24.09 | I think some of you are confused on what sumeriancore is. It's the sound that describes the meshuggah influenced bands that have progressed that sound with other genres of metal. It was named after Sumerian Records obviously because they started signing all kinds of bands that possessed this sound, but that doesn't limit Sumeriancore to just bands on Sumerian though. Although WIthin the Ruins is on Victory they still sound like sumeriancore, however I would argue that Conducting from the Grave is more of a melodic metalcore band than a Sumeriancore band, for they really don't do alot with tech rhythms. As far as the list goes the most notable albums I'd add are Fell Silent's, A Higher Place, and Akeldama. Btw the rareform reissue is great, pick it up if you have a chance. |
