Double Damnit!

A back to back but kicking, only one more final left this week. Reviving my brain by watching The Venture Brothers. Here's a list of the bands I've seen in concert this year.
1Thrice

Just saw them a couple weeks ago. It was awesome, one of my favorite concerts I've been to in a while.
2mewithoutYou

Went and saw them up in Seattle while I went up for the weekend for a friends wedding. Aaron Weiss has an incredible stage presence.
3Bon Iver

There was a series of free concerts in downtown Salt lake, and guess who played there. Wow, he sounds fantastic live.
4Iron & Wine

Was also part of the free concert series. Pretty amazing what Sam Bean can do with just a guitar on the stage. By himself.
5RX Bandits

Kick Ass. A ton of energy, a ton of fun. They started their set with all four of them just pounding it out on the drums, it was awesome.
6Sonic Youth

For being so old these guys can still rock. Kim Gordons voice has been hashed, she sounds terrible, but it fits the music so much better. This was also a free one.
7Dredg

They opened for RX Bandits. They were good, the bandits stole the night though.
8The Dear Hunter

I saw them twice. They opened for mewithoutYou and Thrice both times I wasn't too impressed, probably because I just couldn't wait to see Thrice and mewithouttYou.
9Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground

They also opened for mewithoutYou, pretty interesting stuff. I think there were twelve or thirteen band members up on stage.
10As Tall As Lions

Opened for Dredg and the Bandits, they were fun. I didn't know who they were at the time, I would have enjoyed them a lot more if I would have known their music.
11Polar Bear Club

They opened for Thrice and the Dear Hunter, not too bad. I didn't see anything special though.
12Okkervil River

They opened for the bean man of Iron & Wine. I had a good time listening to them, and I want to get one of their albums.
13Jenny Lewis

Opened for Bon Iver. Sounded not too different from the normal country music.
14Double or Nothing

A local band from Salt Lake my friend is in. It was a fun little show, not more than thirty or so people there
15Larusso

Another local band from Salt Lake. I guess the rest of the band was sick, so the front man put on a little one man show. He was pretty good at tickling the Ivory.
