| Random Question/random List
Okay, random question time, what exactly is "objectivity"? I've never really noticed it until today, but I'm curious, is it better to have a lower, or higher percentage. For instance my percent is 83. Anyways, 5 random albums I've been enjoying a lot lately. | 1 | | Dark Millennium Ashore the Celestial Burden
This album is really, really, really awesome, really. I'm not very big on doom metal, but this death/doom hybrid is nothing short of amazing. Though the vocals were initially a turn off. | 2 | | Nocturnus The Key
Not sure why I hadn't given this album a shot in the past. I kept putting off, until a couple months ago. This album must have been an odd apple when it was released. Death metal with keyboards? lolwut. | 3 | | Lost Soul Immerse In Infinity
This album was criminally overlooked. I seriously still don't get why this album was overlooked, it was easily one of the best of 09, yet barely received mention at all. | 4 | | Destroyer 666 Cold Steel...for an Iron Age
This album has been in my collection for some time, but recently I decided to revisit this album, and quickly remembered why I gave it a 4.5. It's that good, and while I tend to noticed older D666 albums getting the nod as their best, Cold Steel is, in my opinion, hands down their best full length album to date. | 5 | | (the) Plasmarifle While You Were Sleeping the World Changed in an In
Yet another criminally overlooked album (more so than Lost Soul's latest outing). Not sure how to classify this album, my best guess would be deathgrind - with breakdowns. It's essentially technical deathcore, done really fast. Only not in the vein of, say, The Red Chord's first album. The vocals are rather run of the mill, but the album is chalk full of really catchy, and creative riffs. | |

01.01.10 | It means you can't rate EVERYTHING high or low, it means for every 5 you give you also need to give a 1 | AliW1993
01.01.10 | its good to have a high percentage. also if you rate every album by a band 5 (for example opeth) and every album by someone else 1 (green day) then your objectivity will be low | somberlain

Ah, gotcha, thanks.

01.02.10 | It's a ratio of your ratings of albums as compared to the average rating of those albums. So for example, if you rate Blackwater Park (average user rating of 4.5) a 1, the site will drop your objectivity ratio because your rating is so far off from the average (pretty much saying you're wrong because of your personal bias and subjectivity).
The more ratings you have, the more your ratio can balance out. If you have a ton of 5 ratings and 2 or 3 1.0 ratings your objectivity will be low. But you if you have a mix of 5's 4's 3's and so on, your objectivity ratio will balance itself out.
It's pretty much bullshit when you think about it. | somberlain

that's really all you need to know on this topic | ninjuice

What?? Since when? You can't give BWP a 1 anyways.
It basically means you have as many negative ratings as positive ratings. It can be really low if you just stay away from stuff you don't like. | bungy
01.02.10 | It basically means that if you want to have a high objectivity you need to find some shitty music to listen to. |
