Best Bands To Come Out Of The 00's

Everyone is doing the best albums of the last decade, so I decided that I'll do the best bands just to be different. Yes, some of these started in the late '90s and maybe even released their debut then, but nonetheless, they were a '00s band.
1Isis

The band that created the true post-metal sound with Oceanic and likely has the most influence on underground (and some mainstream) hard rock than any other band of the decade.
2Brand New

From mediocre pop-punk to the now amazing diverse alt rock sound, especially on The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.
3Thrice

Another band that started out with a typical sound of a genre, this one being post-hardcore (though being some of the best), to a now very diverse sound, particularly on Vheissu.
4Cult of Luna

Likely the first band to be heavily influenced by Isis, creating their own post-metal on the same level as them with Salvation, Somewhere Along the Highway, and Eternal Kingdom.
5Mastodon

Progressive metal with influence from Neurosis and Thin Lizzy (especially guitar wise) that happened to have created four of the best albums of the decade, each with its own sound.
6Pig Destroyer

In my opinion, the best and most diverse grindcore band, thanks to Scott Hull's beastly guitar riffs and J.R. Hayes' more ranged (for the genre) and accessible vocals.
7The White Stripes

I can imagine that in another decade, Jack White will be considered a legend by the music community.
8System of a Down

Everyone knows this band and Toxicity was one of the best albums of the decade. They need to reunite and tour.
9The Ocean

A metal band that has a little piece of everything in their sound. Just listen to Precambrian for proof. Definitely needs more recognition.
10Slipknot

Yes, many of you are going to disagree, but I still love this band and was the first really heavy band I got into.
11The Dillinger Escape Plan

Calculating Infinity was released in 1999, but DEP is still a '00s band with Miss Machine and Ire Works being amazing albums as well.
12Between the Buried and Me

Very technical extreme metal featuring hints of just about every genre you can think of, but especially metalcore, progressive rock, and death metal.
13Cave In

Again, the debut was released in 1999 (Beyond Hypothermia being a collection of old songs, while Until Your Heart Stops was recorded specifically as an album), but the majority of time was spent in the '00's with more excellent releases.
14Underoath

One of the first metalcore bands to become mainstream, the music is still amazing and seems to improve with every album, taking influence from underground bands such as Converge and Isis.
15Darkest Hour

Melodic death metal with a hardcore/metalcore vibe, the music is always consistent, entertaining, and superb.
16Gojira

Groove based death metal, one of the best in the genre, with a badass riff at every corner turned. Not to mention AMAZING live.. and French! From Mars to Sirius and The Way of All Flesh are both epic metal albums.
1765daysofstatic

A different kind of post-rock that is just as good as the normal kind, being all instrumental except for The Conspiracy of Seeds, which features Circle Takes the Square.
18Silversun Pickups

Indie rock with a ton of shoegaze, Carnavas and Swoon are both atmospheric albums with the guitar being used for texture rather than the focus-point.
19Muse

Easily the best Radiohead spawn that especially became popular with Absolution.
20The Mars Volta

Eclectic progressive rock that came to be after the breakup of post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, featuring Omar Rodr?guez-L?pez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala and some of the best albums of the last ten years.
