Top 5 Tangerine Dream albums

These are the top 5 Tangerine Dream albums of all time in my opinion. They represent TD at their best, and all of them make for great starting points when discovering TD.
1Tangerine Dream
Phaedra

Quite easily the quintessential TD album, created at the peak of a unfledging bands career. The intricate detail in creating immersive musical worlds is mindblowing, making this one of the best electronic albums of all time.
2Tangerine Dream
Stratosfear

Not quite as jaw-dropping as Phaedra, but has its own vivid detail that puts Stratosfear in the same class as Phaedra. Stratosfear is easily the best guitar-focused Tangerine Dream album ever.
3Tangerine Dream
Tangram

Two songs, twenty minutes each. Each peace features a wide range of moods and sounds, from frantic complex patterns to peaceful arias. Tangram marked a turning point for TD, that resulted in a hit-and-miss 80s decade. Tangram however was all hit. The only other TD album from the 80s to come close to it was Canyon Dreams.
4Tangerine Dream
The Seven Letters From Tibet

Tangerine Dream often miss the mark when making concept albums, yet The Seven Letters From Tibet stands as their best concept album, with some incredibly emotional melodies matching the awe-inspiring themes.
5Tangerine Dream
Force Majeure

Each song on Force Majeure could stand easily on its own, yet all three songs come together in unison to make what can only be considered beauty. This last spot could also be given to Rubycon, Pergamon, Turn of the Tides or Canyon Dreams.
