Chimaira Ranked

Chimaira's discography ranked.
1Chimaira
Chimaira

Their best album, I doubt they will be able to top it. Amazing guitar and drum work is all over this record. The songs are longer than they are on any of their other albums and the solos and riffs on here are incredible. This is their masterpiece and an amazing disc. Songs like "Nothing Remains", "Salvation", "Everything You Love" and "Lazarus" are some of the best songs they've ever written. Kevin Talley rules behind the kit on this as well.
2Chimaira
Resurrection

Their first album since Andols Herrick rejoined the band. A lot of songs here differ from their self-titled in the fact that Spicuzza has more electronics spread out across this album then the previous record and the songs have returned to shorter lengths. "Six" and "The Flame" are amazing and "Empire" has some excellent keyboard work and electronics, making it sound almost like a song from a Black Metal band.
3Chimaira
The Infection

Their latest work. The Infection doesnt hold anything suprising or new, but it shows the band heading in a darker direction then they took on Resurrection. "The Venom Inside" is one of the best album openers ever and it has a killer chorus. "Impending Doom" is one of the darkest songs they have made and it has a great atmosphere. While some might think this is an average abum, I find it to be a fun and heavy one. The death metal influence is also very prominent on this one too.
4Chimaira
Impossiblity of Reason

The album in which Chimaira truly defined their style on. A major step up from their first album, some songs on here are actually very good, but it still suffers from some filler which makes it not as good as the others. They take everything up a major step on their self-titled. "Power Trip", "Pure Hatred", and "Down Again" are all great songs and fan favorites and "Implements of Destruction" is one of the best instrumental tracks in modern metal.
5Chimaira
Pass Out Of Existence

Even though the nu-metal influence is all over the place on this album, some of it is still somewhat enjoyable. This record put Chimaira on the map and set them up to develop their true style on the next record. "Severed" is a good track.
6Chimaira
This Present Darkness (cd/dvd)

The EP that got them set to release their first record. This is early Chimaira and it sounds really different then the Chimaira we all know today, but some tracks here show evidence that they were always a band that stuck out.
