02.08.10 | start at the start... Venom... |
Crysis
02.08.10 | I definitely agree with Bergtatt being a fine place to start. |
AngelofDeath
02.08.10 | Bergtatt is clearly a good choice. But, personally, I got started on the classics: De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk. Also, those two on your list happen to be two of my favorite albums ever. |
Crysis
02.08.10 | I would definitely classify Bergtatt as a "classic" |
Hawks
02.08.10 | Yeah it definitely is. Plus it's easier to get into than both of those albums. |
TheSpirit
02.08.10 | Bergtatt |
AngelofDeath
02.08.10 | Not disputing it as a classic. Easily one of the best black metal albums ever made and one of my favorite albums period. I guess I was more mindful of straight-up BM when I said classics. In no way was it to discredit such an amazing piece of music. Also, it occured to me to suggest Storm of the Light's Bane by Dissection. Just realized no one had mentioned it. |
TheSpirit
02.08.10 | Illitoris gave you a lot of great albums (props Illtoris) but a lot of what he rec'd is stuff you should listen to whence you've listened to more BM |
DeafMetal
02.08.10 | Martriden - The Unsettling Dark
A Forest Of Stars - The Corpse Of Rebirth
Wolves In The Throne Room - Two Hunters
Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness
Ulver - Bergtatt (Of course)
Honestly, Agalloch's albums are a great way of getting into more black metal. Check out The Mantle if you haven't already. |

02.08.10 | In The Woods...-HEart of the Ages

02.08.10 | lol |
Hawks
02.08.10 | Last track is one of my favorite black metal songs ever. |
Crysis
02.09.10 | You could give Darkthrone's "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" a shot if you're up for something a little more straight-forward. |
Crysis
02.09.10 | Try it anyway, if you're not go for something like "Storm Of The Light's Bane" by Dissection. |
jk2two
