| Bands That Caught My Attention Through Lyrics
These bands at first turned me off, but later I was impressed by their lyrical prowls. List is short, but it sure is different from "TOP 10 FAVORITE ALBUMS!". | | 1 | Converge
The first song I ever listened to was a serious letdown, I was expecting something godly, but I didn't get the hype, but then I read the lyrics to "Heaven in Her Arms" and it seriously started clicking. I obviously just expected the wrong thing, it was still godly, just in a dirtier, grittier form. Converge is now one of my favorite bands, go figure. | | 2 | Glassjaw
It was alright, but Siberian Kiss really sold it for me. I then read the lyrics while listening and it really brought the experience home. It still oddly sounds like Around the Fur-era Deftones to me though (not that that's a bad thing), but am I the only person who fills this? | | 3 | Pig Destroyer
Their old material reeked of "DEATH METAL RAAAAAAAAWRRRRRRR!" but Terrifyer and Phantom Limb have some seriously awesome lyrics. "Girl in the Slayer Jacket" almost gave me chills, and the fact that music can make you feel something other then disgust or something it doesn't intend (Brokencyde, BACK FROM WHENCE YOU CAME!!!) it's a good thing all around to me. | |

02.22.10 | I heard some of their old demos and whatnot, and it sounded alot like typical death metal material, but I guess they switched out some song writers since then. | eternium
