| Best Of 2010 So Far For Me
These are the best records which came out in the first quarter of 2010. It is a complete subjective list according to my own likes and taste of music, so it does not necessarily have to match with your taste. Anyway tell me which of them you liked most, or flame about some underdogs if you need. I won't care much .)
2010 so far - In the following order: | 1 | | Jónsi Go
Astonishing beautiful walk through a forest of love, life and death - captured and delivered in notes and sounds of the seemingly most talented blind gay on this planet. | 2 | | Coheed And Cambria Year Of The Black Rainbow
This is not your playground - it's my heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaart. Hi chan. | 3 | | Counterparts Prophets
I never thought that these guys would impress me so much. "Prophets" is a world class release of a young newcomer band that wants to mess with distinguished acts such as Misery Signals, August Burns Red or any other esteemed hardcore-meets-metalcore-meets-progressive-meets-ambient experience band. Definitely worth a rec over here. | 4 | | The Dillenger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
'wow.' | 5 | | Alesana The Emptiness
They are back and thank god: not mainstream, not generic, not boring. A nicely written concept album with a production like five years ago and some honest attitude they were lacking in their latest output. Stop the fashion show and then you get a complete T-up. Now it's a half .) | 6 | | Emancipator Safe In The Steep Cliffs
Veeeery nice chillout tunes here from our friend-of-trees homie Emancipator. Awesome trip hop/ambient/dubstep-thing experience. | 7 | | Four Tet There Is Love In You
Awesome release, nothing more to say. | 8 | | Isles & Glaciers The Hearts Of Lonely People
Love their lineup. Some songs are fillers but overall a stunning EP of the supercombo. | 9 | | Portugal.The.Man American Ghetto
One word. Felicitous. | 10 | | The Audition Great Danger
Their last output was mediocre, this one is really enjoyable- | 11 | | Angels And Airwaves Love
I, Empire was easily > this. But anyway a good listen. | 12 | | Blind Witness Nightmare On Providence Street
Generic, mainstream, but definitely fun. | 13 | | Chelsea Grin Desolation Of Eden
I did not quite like their EP, it was a complete Suicide Silence-Fake. Now Suicide Silence made "No Time To Bleed", one of the worst Deathcore outputs of all time, so "Desolation Of Eden" is a pretty charming record in comparison and could easily be "The Cleansing Part II". | 14 | | 30 Seconds To Mars This Is War
I liked the forerunner better, but anyway a pretty solid output. Too much choir if you ask me, but nonetheless enjoyable. | 15 | | House vs. Hurricane Perspective
Not great but definitely good and better then their overproduced "Forfeiture". I like how their sound is getting more versatile and mature, even they are still a kind of "hype" and "scene" band. Next record could prove their ripening. Mark my words. | 16 | | A Hero A Fake Let Oceans Lie
A nice, little progressive "kinder-egg" full of unexpected candy. | 17 | | Sleeping With Sirens With Ears To See And Eyes To Hear
I liked the album title and I got a rec for this from a friend, so I listened to SWS and found them to be quite generic, technically bad and often mainstream, too. But what keeps this album alive is the awesome voice of their singer Kellin. He seems to be a young version of Jonny Craig and pulls of some unique singing skills, offering a very wide range which truly impressed me. Anyway they will have a long road to go to reach a real status. Let's see how their next record will sound. | 18 | | Greeley Estates No Rain, No Rainbow
No material for this list tbh but I had to make an 18th contribution - 17' lists suck .) Record isn't special but decent - nothing more, nothing less. | |
IRAI

04.03.10 | where the fuck is The Monitor? | zachblack
04.03.10 | I saw greeley estates with the chariot in march and greeley estates was the worst band ive ever seen. Not bashing your taste, but god, they were awful. | iamSeraph
04.03.10 | @zachblack: it's okay, I believe this like np .) but how were the chariot? :) more interesting in this case.
@shade: dunno but it seems I'm not enough into punk to like this well :/ surely the guitars and harmonies are wonderful, and the music overall comes from the heart. I have nothing against it and it is enjoyable, but I'm definitely not into the vocals. this punky, tiddly, squiffy, liam gallagher-like voice seems unbearable for me :( | zachblack
04.08.10 | The Chariot were amazing. They were crazy, and i was actually fearful for myself or one of the band members to get hurt because they were going insane. Do not expect to go see them and here a full song. They have a mixed up set that incorporates parts of songs together . IT was seriously amazing. | guizpom
06.14.11 | how is 12 mainstream ? wtf |
