Top 10 Newest Additions
Top 10 Albums I have acquired most recently. |
10 | | Gordian Knot Emergent
Only number 10 due to its being added to my collection relatively earlier
than the rest. Pretty much all of Cynic are on this and the incredible jazz-
influenced work here is fan-fucking-tastic. Get it. |
9 | | Periphery Periphery
Some interesting stuff. Feels like it still needs to click with me, but hey,
that's what new music is all about. |
8 | | Tre Watson Lexicon of the Human Subconscious
Tre does a cover of Telephone that uses great drums and guitars but saves
Gaga's vocals. It is thus awesome. |
7 | | Chimp Spanner At the Dream's Edge
Chimp Spanner is really cool - I'm still new to this whole djent thing (as is
the rest of the world, I guess), but I really dig it so far. |
6 | | Augury Concealed
Really good progressive metal that I'd almost never heard of. I still need to
listen to this more. |
5 | | Anathema We're Here Because We're Here
I absolutely hate doom metal. Cannot stand it. I don't know why, but it just
does absolutely nothing for me. So going into this album, I wasn't entirely
sure what to expect (except what I'd heard from the staff review, which
was that it was glorious, and it is) |
4 | | Cynic Re-Traced
I was unsure of this album. Wheels Within Wheels was really cool live and
all, I was just uncertain about them trying to re-image an album that was
already so fantastic... Well, somehow it worked out wonderfully. Cynic just
have that kind of creative edge where it's hard to fail. |
3 | | John 5 The Art of Malice
I'd never really given John 5 a listen, mostly because of my distaste for
Marilyn Manson and relative disinterest in his project with Rob Halford
(2wo). |
2 | | Punky Bruster Cooked on Phonics
Devin Townsend is just so fucking good. I've heard things about this album
and wanted to check it out. While it's definitely a different direction, it
delivers in both hilarity and good music. |
1 | | The Dear Hunter The Lake South, The River North
Recommended to me by a good friend as more chilled back music that I
might be into due to my love of Coheed and Cambria. He was correct. |
