| Stuff I've Discovered Thanks To This Site
Haven't really been vocal since I joined this site (going to change that). But just by looking at lists and reviews on the front page, I've found and bought plenty of albums that are good, or even great, by my standards. | 1 | | Scar Symmetry Holographic Universe
I would list every band I like that Christian's in, but that would seem kind of redundant to do that, this is my favorite album that he's had a part in. | 2 | | Deftones Diamond Eyes
A real nice escape from the death/melodeath/metalcore I normally listen to, Chino is as good as they come these days. | 3 | | Periphery Periphery
I like these guys a lot, but they REALLY need to shorten the length of their songs that they plan to put on future albums, or just take some off. I can't focus enough to get to Racecar most of the time even though that's the best song on it. | 4 | | Cloudkicker Beacons
Just started listening to this guy a couple days ago, very impressed with his talent and I hope he gets recognized more than just the internet. | 5 | | Protest the Hero Kezia
My brother was a huge, huge freak over these guys, and I didn't really like them too much until reading a review on them from this site, then actually sitting down and listening to them. Can't wait for their next album. | 6 | | Becoming the Archetype Terminate Damnation
A pretty damn good progressive death metal (i think...?) band, the music stays consistently interesting throughout their 2 earlier albums. Not too big a fan of the third, I don't even want to rate it :|. | 7 | | The Absence Riders of the Plague
After Scar Symmetry, this really got me into Melodic Death Metal. I guess I really like the dweedle sound. | 8 | | Woe of Tyrants Threnody
As far as I know/care, the best Melo-death to come out of America, they write VERY catchy and interesting melodies and I have been listening to them for the past week non-stop almost. I hope they progress a bit with their next album, this band has a lot of potential. | 9 | | Opeth Blackwater Park
This band knows how to go from a death metal sound to an acoustic sound better than anyone else out there. And they play one HELL of a live show. | 10 | | Disarmonia Mundi Fragments of D-Generation
Speed's work with this band is better than most of his work with Soilwork, in my opinion, not to say Soilwork is "bad" by any sense, but they really are horrible with staying consistent. | 11 | | Amorphis Silent Waters
Probably my favorite band on this list, the deep singing is phenomenal, the rhythm sections very well done, and I'm a gay fan boy for them. | 12 | | A Breath Before Surfacing Death is Swallowed by Victory
One of three bands that are convincing me that Deathcore isn't ENTIRELY dead yet. | 13 | | Shadow of the Colossus Shadow of the Colossus
This band being one of the other ones, I like the instrumental in this one quite a bit. | 14 | | Burning the Masses Mind Control
This being the third band. They have some sik sweepz brah. But seriously, I like their "brutal deathcore" sound a lot. | 15 | | Called to Arms Peril and the Patient
A band that proves not ALL metalcore is mediocre. A very fun sound coupled with a good amount of catchy moments are the 2 main reasons I like this band. | 16 | | Powerglove Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man
I'm huge on video games and TV, I was basically grown up on them, so this is one of my dream bands. The covers they do are very well done and I hope they continue that consistency. | 17 | | Sonata Arctica Reckoning Night
A couple years ago I thought DragonForce was the sound of ALL power metal...How wrong I was. I like these guys quite a bit, but their newest album didn't hold my attention that long at all. | 18 | | Demonic Resurrection The Return to Darkness
I like this band's sound a lot. Simple as that. | 19 | | Edge of Sanity Crimson II
I think Dan Swano is one hell of a musician, and this band clearly shows why. I can't wait to hear more from them. | 20 | | Enfold Darkness Our Cursed Rapture
Very biased choice here, but I think this is the best band on Sumerian Records and will be for a LONG time. | |
ButcheredChildren
10.09.10 | some great stuff here | Thane
10.09.10 | Good stuff man, same with 9 for me | myhigherpie
10.09.10 | I think the only things I really like on here are 2, 9, and 19.
lol. a year ago I'd have been jizzin' all over this... | kangaroopoo
10.09.10 | get all Deftones, Opeth.
Periphery has some good parts but the vocals can get whiny and the guitars are so derivative of Meshuggah
Amorphis - Silent Waters popular here but I enjoyed Tales, Elegy, Tuonela + Eclipse so much more | Dryden
10.09.10 | discover some better music | Hawks
10.09.10 | 1, 2, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 19 all range from good to amazing. 11 is the greatest metal album ever. | kangaroopoo
10.09.10 | I'm Robinson Crusoe on 11. | iwubmoosik
10.09.10 | @kanga: Agreed on Periphery, it's another reason I don't stick around to the end. And about Amorphis, I haven't really listened to the older stuff yet. Maybe I'll get on that as soon as I can.
@dryden: Show me some and I'd gladly discover.
And damn, all but one album art, at least they're all colorful. | wyankeif1337
10.09.10 | List is awesomeness.

The Contortionist - Exoplanet | iwubmoosik
10.09.10 | Listened to the Meshuggah album and the rest of theirs before I came to this site, I like em quite a bit.
And I downloaded that Contortionist album but never got to listening to it...time to change that | bailar14
10.09.10 | make sure to rate so people know what youve heard or not | iwubmoosik
10.09.10 | Yeah, I'm working on that now after he mentioned Meshuggah, I knew I had forgotten something. I'll look through my library and finish that up sometime tonight or tomorrow. | bailar14
10.09.10 | bailamos senor. happy sputniking. | iwubmoosik
10.09.10 | Haha, this is funny because I have a friend who quotes that same line from that song everytime I'm with him, Enrique is a pleasant fellow :o | bailar14
