11.30.10 | Nice list, but I'd probably put 5 a bit higher, it's definitely in my top 3. Still need to see FMJ. |

Kubrick
11.30.10 | haha well obviously I need to comment on this.
Definitely a good ranking.. granted it would be pretty hard to make a bad one. 2001 is definitely #1 for me and probably my favorite movie of all time. I really can't even define it as anything other than a work of art. My other favorites that I would rank behind that are The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, and Dr. Strangelove. Not necessarily sure what order but The Shining and Clockwork would be before the other three, followed by either FMJ or Eyes Wide Shut (BTW totally agree that Eyes Wide Shut is underrated.. movie is ridiculously good).
So yeah my only real divergence from you is Eyes Wide Shut, The Shining, and Full Metal Jacket would all definitely by top 5.. but 2001 at #1 is really all that matters haha. |

11.30.10 | I can't say I like 10 and 11 that much, that is why they are so low. I love 1-9 though, pretty much perfect films. |

11.30.10 | agreed |
Kubrick
11.30.10 | "Lolita, as in the book by Vladimir Nabokov as a movie?"
Yeah.. there's actually two movies based on the book. I haven't seen the other one but Kubrick's is superior I'm sure. Really good movie.. I enjoy his more recent movies more than his earlier ones though but you can't go wrong with anything by him. Every film he directed is better than what most directors ever achieve. |
