My Fav 20 Of 2010

Well, yeah, I liked some music that was released this year. This stuff ris pretty much what I liked rrthe best. It's kinda in order. So, here's rwhat I liked the best! MUSIC! NEAT!
1Kanye West
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Well, Kanye's pretty good. I've always kinda liked him, he's entertaining,
but this went beyond entertainment value. He rewrote a genre or
something. I don't know, it's just really good.
2The Chariot
Long Live

I don't know why I'm putting this so high. It's been kinda a weird day. But
this album is nucking futs. I got really into Scogin when he was fronting
Norma Jean (the first band I passionately loved, with like, passion). The
past releases have been fairly MEHHH. But this albums prevents forest fires
and is currently lowering the infant mortality rate. It's a riproarin good time.
3The Tallest Man On Earth
The Wild Hunt

Passion comes pouring out of every single bit of this album. His live
performance solidified a top 5. This album is a masterpiece.
4Max Richter
Infra

Max Richter has my heart. Plus I watched Waltz With Bashir this past
weekend, and that's a really good movie. It made me realize that Richter
not only controls my emotions with his music, he can control cinema. SO
MUCH POWER!!
5Arcade Fire
The Suburbs

I didn't think this album would end up this high, but alas. The album has it's
ups and downs, but it's ups are so damn high I can hardly breathe. I found
myself getting various songs off this record stuck in my head, and I think
that's good? Yeah, it's whatever.
6 Big Boi
Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty

This albums neat. Jitterbug all over your face and stuff. I really like this
album. I should probably put it higher, but for some reason the chariot is
number two. Oh well.
7Menomena
Mines

I thought I would get sick of this album, I never did. It has some of my
favorite tracks of the year on it. Really complete album, like, really. This is
probably better than arcade fire, but for some reason it's at 5 and this isn't.
8Jonsi
Go

This album sticks with me. Jonsi can move mountains. He and all his various
projects have been a part of my top 10 for the past several years. I really
enjoy the way he does music.
9 Sufjan Stevens
All Delighted People EP

I don't like Age of Adz. Yeah, I said it, wanna fight?! But this album is super.
Love it. So good.
10The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

When this dropped super early in the year, I thought it was all over. This
album killlllled. But, it doesn't hold it's value very well (i.e. I stopped
listening to it). It probably would be lower, but I'm listening to it as I write
this. One of my favorite bands ever, which helps.
11Cloud Cult
Light Chasers

This album has some amazing songs on it. Cloud Cult has been one of my
favorite since 2005, they just do something with their music that no one
else really does... are they geniuses or are they just fortunate that an idiot
like me falls in love with every little song they write. THAT is the qestion.
12Bad Books
Bad Books

This album reminds me of Weezer's Blue Album... It has a really goofy 90s
feel to it. They make me want to get a bunch of bros together and make a
jam band that covers their songs. I'm a sucker for Manchester and ma boy
Kevin too. I found this album pretty entertaining. My sing-a-long album. No
doubt.
13Sleigh Bells
Treats

This album IS SO COOL. I probably like it better than some albums I've
already posted... This album makes me want to party and make out with
not-too-attractive girls. Get trashed and do stupid things album of 2010
14Tokyo Police Club
Champ

I love this album. It came out during a dry spell of music in 2010, so I
listened to it a lot and fell in love with several songs. I'm quite fond of this
album. It makes me wish it was summer.
15S. Carey
All We Grow

This is great, has it's ups and downs, but he has a great control over his
music. I'm never quite in the mood to jam to this one, but when I do, I'm
very pleased.
16The Contortionist
Exoplanet

HWOAHDANG! I almost forgot about this album (boy do i feel dumb!). This
album is awesome! My iPod shuffle broke, and this was the only album I
was able to get on there before the little guy shut down. So I listen to this
album once a day and I love it every time. This should be top 10, but yeah,
I put other shit in it's place.
17Local Natives
Gorilla Manor

Yeah... well, I got super drunk and saw these guys live and it was one of
the best nights of the year and I will forever remember (kind of remember)
Local Natives putting on a damn good show and helping me have a super
good time and its not a bad album, its just not super good album. but the
MEMORIES!
18Kid Cudi
Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager

Yeah, Kanye kinda stole some thunder here... and by kinda I mean Cudi
straight up got shit on by the hip hop album of the year (decade?century?
ever?). But, before Kanye came along, I was jamming this record pretty
hard, Marijuana is one of my favorite tracks of the year.
19Yeasayer
Odd Blood

I really like ambling alps or whatever the hell that song is called. The music
video too. These guys are pretty cool, not a great album, but I had some
fun with it.
20Skrillex
Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

Just started listening to this a few days ago, it's a lot of fun. Granted my
favorite song on it is easily Noisia's remix, the whole album is pretty good
and I think its growing on me. Daft Punk gone nasty.
