Nagrarok 01.03.11	Deep Purple were hardly prog, they were influenced by it at some points but never made it their own. If you liked 17 you should definitely listen to Crime of the Century, it's their best, and most proggiest at that (they always had something poppy but BIA increased that a great deal). This reminds me I should listen to 4 again, it's just such a lovely piece of work. And keep on progging in 2011 indeed!

vanderb0b 01.03.11	Thank you, all! I thought about including Deep Purple, but, as Nag said, I wasn't particularly sure that it was proggy enough. I'll listen to all those recs, a few of them, such as Genesis and Triumvirat, I've been meaning to listen to for a while already.

EverythingEvil2113 01.28.11	Camel is one of the best prog bands I got into from sputnik. I still need to check out ELP and Jethro at some point.

Jethro42 01.28.11	@EverythingEvil; If you like Camel, try Maneige. For ELP, start with their s/t and youtube 'Tarkus'. Triumvirat are similar to ELP. Finally for Jethro Tull, start with both Aqualung and thick as a Brick. AND EVERYBODY NEEDS 4.
