| Farewell Oceansize- A Tribute In Lyrics
The breakup of, in my opinion, the finest band the UK, if not the
planet, has ever produced is the worst piece of music-related news
I've heard in a long, long time. List is ten of my favourite lyrics from
the all too short career of the 'Size. | 1 | Oceansize Ornament/The Last Wrongs
Feathernest invest and gain, shiny brass is milk and grain, and yours is to
just sustain and chip away with haste, treasure time and savour taste, and
all the while you quietly crave and crave the day is done, time you've made
has come and gone, stay asleep now everyone into position, everyone into
their place, grow to grow at snail's pace like carnivores at grace, feed to
feed and building face, pay to play and find a place | 2 | It's My Tail And I'll Chase It If I Want To
A whole new world of "would" when the bad outstrips the good it's the
reap/sow interface that will help you win the race, it will help you build a
rocket, help you build a ship, there's a good chance you can help, there's a
price on this return but there's absolutely nobody, no time. Spider takes the
fly as the grey does take the dye as the drink does numb the pain as the
songs all sound the same, with diminishing returns and the hackneyed
twists and turns as the egg runs down your face we'll still bang on the bin
lids, cos Dad forgot the kids and they throw us to the pigs and it's hard
lines | 3 | Oscar Acceptance Speech
I've smashed to smithereens all hopes and dreams nurtured in dirty
playgrounds | 4 | You Can't Keep A Bad Man Down
This criminal apathy's a sound that deafens all around, a heavy tranquilizer
for all...All you fucking pigs you have crucified us | 5 | Music For A Nurse
The dream, it comes again and again, you're here, it's you, I pull you close
and hold you tight, into the sky you go, and I can't change it | 6 | The Frame
Time won't change a thing when I'm gone, don't grip the wheel too tightly
my son...I am not the picture now, I'm the frame | 7 | Build Us A Rocket Then...
And I thought this could be my time, but you pulled the rug from under me,
I've hardened in this ageless shame of swinging from your coat-tails | 8 | The Charm Offensive
They've sold us out again and thrown us in the fire, they say we're all the
same, well yeah but we're not liars | 9 | Savant
Where others float, you and I crash land | 10 | Part Cardiac
Self preserved while the bodies float up and the hard luck follows them all
down the well, so unoriginal, and under the spell you can only die. Under
the sun the fragilest buckle under the prejudice, you live for stone cold war | |

02.25.11 | All 10 of these are gold. Great list man, just sad to know why it had to be made. | acorncheese
02.25.11 | Amen. | geng
02.25.11 | Anyone got any other favourites? | acorncheese
02.25.11 | Voorhees has badass lyrics. But the lyrics I think of IMMEDIATELY are from MFAN. Simply the most beautiful combination of words I've ever heard.
"If I display just a fraction of the soul you showed in this world
Then I know I'll see you again"
Mike's my favorite lyricist. Fucking severely underrated.
Ourselves! Ourselves! We built him ourselves! Our boy! Our boy! Contortionist boy! | UnnamedOcean
02.25.11 | I'm so shocked that this happened out of the blue. Maybe they just decided it's been long enough and they want to have normal lives now... They won't say, so we can't know for sure. I wonder who is going to fill this void for us now.. | Zanders
02.25.11 | Damn it. I just found out that Sleepytime gorilla Museum broke up last night and now this happens the very next day. That's two of my favorite bands in a row. | Crimson Death
02.26.11 | I listen to #1 every night as I fall asleep. Amazing track. | Josh D.
02.26.11 | OMG WE GIT IT AAAAAAAARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH | Yazz_Flute
02.26.11 | As much as I love Oceansize (a lot) this is getting a bit ridiculous. |
