03.20.11 | I record with Reaper and FL Studios for Trip Hop or any ambient stuff. and I do all of my drums through EZ Drummer.
I am hoping to get some new software to edit my guitar tone here soon.

03.20.11 | My friend is more of the engineer in the band we have, but I think he uses ableton. We are planning on getting a really nice interface with 8 mic/instrument inputs and an array of microphones to record a debut album of sorts. |

03.20.11 | I'm currently using Reaper, Presonus Audiobox, Sennheiser dynamic and condenser, EZ Drummer for all the drums.
Working on getting some monitors and fabricating a nice recording environment. |

03.20.11 | Well the gear you have is infinitely better than what I have haha. |

03.20.11 | I'm looking at getting a new interface soon, and maybe a nice condenser mic.
I'm doing a course in sound production at the moment and I regularly get to use a pretty sweet mixing console with 24 inputs hooked up to Pro Tools HD, with a decent amount of outboard gear and some of it is good stuff. Good monitor speakers too. The studio is soundproofed and stuff - you can make good 'CD quality' sounds happen with that stuff but at the same time I dig the home lo-fi vibe. |

03.20.11 | FL Studio, Ableton Live 8, Reason 5 (rewire the other 2 into ableton), KRK RP5 G2 Monitors, M Audio Fastrack pro interface, around 300 vst's (including all of the essentials, albino 3, ez drummer, massive, guitar rig 4). I'm a tech geek though haha. About to invest in a really really nice gibson LP this summer. I've had an epiphone les paul standard which ran me like $750 for a few years, going to upgrade that to the gibby. It's hard for me to find guitars though because I'm a lefty. After I upgrade my guitar, getting a nice ass orange amp, maybe a line 6 dl4, and a condenser mic. Then my home studio will be basically complete. |

03.20.11 | is that pod hd pretty sick? been thinking of getting one, but don't know if it's worth it. |

03.20.11 | It's fucking king man. I got the 500 model and you can literally do anything you want with it. Yes, I had save up like mad for it but personally I think it's worth it.
I watch A LOT of youtube videos before making my final decision though. |

03.20.11 | Aside from yur dynamics (SM57, 58) RODE condenser mics are great value, such as the NT2A. Also invest in some good reference monitors like Yamaha NS-10s (expensive though). Having multiple sets of monitors isn't such a bad idea either. In terms of software, it doesn't really make much difference. I use PT9 now, but started with Audacity, and before that CoolEdit Pro. |
