Top 8 Bands On Hydra Head Records

8 groups that come out of a label that have been producing a lot of Isis knockoffs lately.
1Torche

Meanderthal was a fantastic album. Songs for Singles topped it with the cherry and then some. Nobody misses Juan Montoya....just saying. And their live shows kickass....lots of it.
2Cave In

White Silence is definitely the jewel here. I like all of their stuff, but White Silence is the best by far.
3Oxbow

Fuckfest and King of the Jews are two masterpieces in modern hardcore. Absolutely fucking awesome.
4The Austerity Program

In the noise rock category TAP definitely take it. Backsliders and Apostates was fucking cool. I also dig that these guys use a drum machine. Gives a lot more room for a creativity.
5Keelhaul

Definitely a weird band, for sure. Triumphant returns and obscurity aside, their live shows sound like they're off the album and Chris Smith is a hilarious guy to meet and see.
6Gridlink

Never really listened to these guys until Orphan dropped. Fucking awesome. I cannot believe I didn't listen to these guys earlier on in life. I feel like such a dumbass. But I'm making up for it by giving them a place on this list.
7Kayo Dot

Toby Driver needs a few Grammys. It's only right. Choirs of the Eye and Blue Lambency are.....spectacular.
8Nadja

This band fucking rocks. One of the first drone bands I ever listened to. Touched is a kickass debut and their splits and collabs with Moss and Year of No Light are just fucking killer.
