What You Need To Hear

Some albums that get very little love on this site that need to be heard.
1Listener
Wooden Heart

Spoken word poetry mixed with indie influences to create one of the best albums of 2010. Dan Smith pairs his
unbelievable writing talent with his charming southern twang to produce a unique sound that only he could pull
off.
2Stag Hare
Sandpaintings

Beautiful ambient that produces a tangible and relaxing environment for the listeners to immerse themselves
in. Godspeed You! Black Emperor for hippies, if you will.
3The Civil Wars
Barton Hollow

An album that caught me off guard with its unique genre-bending style, mixing folk, country, and a bit of
indie to create an album full of surprises.
4Nana Grizol
Ruth

A fantastic indie gem that features one of the best tracks of 2010, "Cynicism". A must-listen for any fans of
Neutral Milk Hotel who may recognize the familiar horns.
5Wild Sweet Orange
We Have Cause To Be Uneasy

A shockingly great album that I stumbled upon by accident one day and found myself in love with. If the
opening track doesn't hook you in, then nothing will.
6Person L
The Positives

Another example of how Kenny Vasoli is best away from The Starting Line. The first lines of 'Untitled' will have
you pumped as fuck, I assure you.

Return to Struggleville

Another Listener album that deserves your attention. This has a more hip-hop based sound to it and utilizes
several different clever methods of creating music. A definite buy for any fans of Dan Smith.
8Ben Konstantinovic
Rain Before the Storm

One of the most relaxing albums you'll hear, 'Rain Before the Storm' tells a story through instrumentals with
each song as Ben uses his own method of "lap-tapping" to orchestrate a fantastic atmosphere.
9 I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business
The World We Know

Ace Enders' side-project is one of my most cherished discoveries of the past year. His passion is so prominent
in his work that he doesn't need a sparkling production to give his music a head-turning effect.
10The Morning Benders
Talking Through Tin Cans

Another little indie gem that poked its head up this summer to give me quite the surprise. It's both catchy
and affecting in its music and writing, making for another great personal listen.
11Person L
Initial

There's not much else to say about Kenny Vasoli except for that his voice is fucking magical.
