Warped Tour Was Fun, I'm Not Joking
I admit the lineup wasn't great, but it was still worth going. |
1 | | August Burns Red Leveler
Great way to start the day. They absolutely killed it. I was hoping they
would play Poor Millionaire and they did. Ended with Back Burner; mosh pit
was nuts as well the circle pit around the sound booth. Someone threw
blow-up dolls into the crowd. |
2 | | Less Than Jake Hello Rockview
Once all the scene kids left after August Burns Red, I just got up at the very
front. One of the best shows of the day. An overall fun band and they're
pretty funny too. They gave a dude a mohawk. One crazy LTJ fan was right
next to me and he was annoying, but still a great performance by LTJ. |
3 | | Street Dogs Street Dogs
While waiting for Dance Gavin Dance to play, I had to sit through Street
Dogs (They both play on one giant stage but split as 2 stages). They were
a fun little punk band that started a bunch of circle pits. |
4 | | Dance Gavin Dance Downtown Battle Mountain
Played songs from DBM and DBM 2. Jonny Craig sang very well. A girl right
behind me was screaming. Let's just say she was louder than the band. |
5 | | Woe, Is Me Number(s)
I had time to kill until the next band I wanted to see was playing, so I
thought Woe, Is Me would be fun, and they were for the 15 minutes that I
was there. Made the crowd kneel and then jump once the song started. |
6 | | Bad Rabbits Stick Up Kids
Between 3:30 and 3:50 was a bad time because there were 3 bands I
wanted to see (Go Radio, Bad Rabbits, The Acacia Strain). I picked Bad
Rabbits because they're an interesting band and the band member I talked
to at the merch table was really cool. Great performance; the band did
some sick dance moves. The crowd response was excellent. And they're
funny guys too. |
7 | | The Acacia Strain Wormwood
After Bad Rabbits, I managed to catch the last 10 minutes of The Acacia
Strain. They played The Impaler, JFC, and Carbomb. They weren't as good
as I thought but then again, it WAS the last 10 minutes. |
8 | | Moving Mountains Pneuma
I had A LOT of time to kill until The Wonder Years started playing, so I sat
down next to my friends and watched a band I never heard of. They were
really atmospheric and sounded good. Later I realized it was Moving
Mountains. |
9 | | There For Tomorrow There for Tomorrow
My friend wanted to see them so I went with her and watched them for 10
minutes. They were solid pop punk/alternative rock. |
10 | | The Devil Wears Prada Zombie EP
I watched them for 15 minutes because I wanted to see The Wonder Years.
Surprisingly, they were good. And you Sputnikers who went to Warped
were right, their Zombie EP is fun as hell live. |
11 | | The Wonder Years Suburbia: I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing
Obviously an excellent show. Everyone was singing along. |
12 | | Foxy Shazam Foxy Shazam
I walked pretty quickly after The Wonder Years's set to catch Foxy Shazam.
I was there for the 15 minutes of their 20 minute set, which seemed short
considering sets for each band are supposed to be 30 minutes. Anyway,
they're insane, literally. The vocalist asked the crowd for some cigarettes,
smoked like 5 of them, then ATE them. They did so much crazy shit. Long
story short, one of the best performances of the day. |
13 | | Set Your Goals This Will Be The Death of Us
Caught the last 10 minutes of their set. Solid band. I'm glad I was there to
see them play Gaia Bleeds. |
14 | | A Day To Remember For Those Who Have Heart
I decided to go to the main stage for ADTR 20 minutes early since I knew it
would eventually be packed. But when I got there, it was already packed. I
was surprised at how many people were already there. I guess that new
album really brought them into the mainstream. I managed to stand next to
the sound booth and stood on this ledge the whole time. I went from being
5'5" to like 6'2". They started playing and it was just a really fun show.
Jeremy's voice faltered a lot but it didn't really matter to me since everyone
was singing along. Wall of death, mosh pits, and circle pits happened. Good
show. |
