Chimaira Rated

With the release of The Age of Hell in just five days, let's see what else the Cleveland thrash metal effort has for us.
5Chimaira
The Infection

I reckon this album has had a lot of popularity, but thank God for The Age of Hell, because this album sounds a bit like a Pass Out of Existence-ized version of Resurrection. Dark mood, melodic/progressive riffs, and repetitive songs. "Destroy and Dominate" and "The Heart of It All" are cool. The rest is average or even passable.

Pass Out of Existence

This was the first album I ever heard of them. It's actually a good album, but it's not real thrash. It's their darkest album ever, but some of the songs lack riffing and sound like they have been drowned in electronic sounds. Not a very impressive debut.
3Chimaira
Impossibility of Reason

The record in which Chimaira started to play it seriously. Starting with the heavy, aggressive track "Cleansation", you will be gifted with 12 amazing songs that have little to do with their 2001 effort.
2Chimaira
Resurrection

A fine, balanced, varied album, Ressurection presents us with a bit of everything for everyone, from aggressive groove-thrash ("Ressurection") to darker songs ("The Flame") or even deathcore-stinkish outings ("Empire"). If you want to start listening to this band, this would be a good idea.

Chimaira

This is it. In 2005, Chimaira delivered their most brutal, most technical record ever. The quality of the drumming is beyond anything they ever did, and Mark Hunter's voice gets to the deepest tone ever. A true classic of modern metal.
