1Bomb The Music Industry!
Vacation

This might very well be AOTY, for me.
2Bon Iver
Bon Iver, Bon Iver

Doesn't have the permanent "classic" feel of For Emma, but it's as good in its
own right.
3Jets To Brazil
Orange Rhyming Dictionary

Sea Anemone is such a fantastic song. Was on a 90s emo kick. (One of my favorite genres, now. Diary by Sunny Day
Real Estate has made it's way nto my top 10 albums.)
4The Mountain Goats
Tallahassee

The lyrics to "No Children" hooked me immediately. Who doesn't love a good
song about hating your wife?
5The Weakerthans
Reconstruction Site

Was always a huge fan of "Left And Leaving", didn't give this a chance till
recently but I'm glad I did.
6Thrice
Major/Minor

Some don't like it, but I think it's fucking great, definitely one of the better
releases of this year. Treading Paper is fucking great.
7Dangers
Anger

Discovered this band this year. One of the best and most pissed off hardcore
bands out there right now.
8Helios
Eingya

Reminds me of a more ambient/slowed down Sigur Ros, beautiful stuff. Really is
something else.
9sleepmakeswaves
...and so we destroyed everything

So far, my second favorite post rock release of the year.
10*shels
Plains Of The Purple Buffalo

And this would be 1st favorite.
11Embrace (US)
Embrace

Was always a big fan of Ian Mackaye's stuff, but hadn't listened to Embrace till
recently, and now they're probably my favorite of his band'\s. The bridge
between Minor Threat and Fugazi, both sound wise and chronologically.
12Converge
Axe To Fall

Have always listened to Converge, but I didn't really come to absolutely adore
them till this year.
13Converge
Jane Doe

Now in my top 10 of all time, see above note.
14Envy
Recitation

If I could scream for any band.....
15Hot Water Music
Caution

I've typed a lot and don't want to type anymore but yeah this album is great.
