Most of what comes out of rottun these days is just some masturbatory competition for who can sound the most like a lawnmower running over a chainsaw. A lot's been lost since Boom EP era (not that that was exceptional either, but still...), so it was nice to hear some grooviness in his tracks, regardless of whether or not they were spectacular. |

10.06.11 | Word, never was a huge fan of Bass Cannon though. He always has a lot of sub-bass still going in his tracks despite the focus being mid-range stuff which is cool. Haven't checked out ajapai much besides a few tracks here and there. Liquid Stranger dropped at least 1 track from him when I saw him though and it was huge so I should probably check some out. |

Nah, shit I wish he'd done some of his more chill stuff but he was all about the womps. IDK if that's just what he does live or if it was the venue... It was in a warehouse for an event called Neon Festival that was a wet paint show so it wasn't exactly the kind of event where the crowd wants deeper music.
Still, he was the best act there. And even if you weren't into his music he was a cool dude. They threw out a shitload of free glowsticks and of course everyone was throwing them in the air, but a lot of people were throwing them at the performers too. Some ignored, some had their MCs tell the crowd to quit it. LS just took it with a smile and threw them right back at us. Also, he filled in for at least 20 minutes longer than he was supposed to be there because mord fustang was late. Overall, fun as hell. But definitely nothing off the intergalactic slapstick. |
