10.21.11 I Make Songs.

I Make Songs.

I posted an album I did a few months ago, and got some really nice feedback on it. I just did another one, and I really want to try and expand a sort of fanbase. It's a free download, so if you have a second to listen to it, I'd love to know some people are enjoying it. Albums 2 - 11 are bands that I love and ones who sort of had a hand in what my music turned out to be. It can be streamed and downloaded at http://neworleansswimteam.bandcamp.com/.
1New Orleans Swim Team
To be Something, to be Anything

My first full length.
2WHY?
Alopecia

Incredible folk / indie hip hop. Intellectual, diverse, and inventive.
3Typhoon
Hunger and Thirst

Chamber folk 12 piece band. They make really heartbreaking songs and have the uncanny ability to restrain their massive slew of members until the perfect moments for making the sound truly shine.
4Trophy Scars
Never Born, Never Dead

Jerry sampled my older album in this EP, but the segment was replaced by one of the far better samples. Personal album of the year so far here. Love this band to pieces.
5 Andrew Jackson Jihad
Can't Maintain

Cathartic folk-punk with their earlier expansion of sounds. Knife Man may op this in time, but I don't see how one can top the "if that's what gets your dick hard" line.
6 Jordaan Mason and the Horse Museum
Divorce Lawyers, I Shaved My Head

Gender confused chamber folk. A weird concept album about horses, sex change, homosexuality, sex, ovaries, sex part, and a lot of sex. Ambiguous and heartfelt.
7La Dispute
Wildlife

I only heard the amazing Here, Hear EP's after making the first album, but the emotion they put into the sound of their full lengths ended up pitting me into a 90's emo bender... This just goes into the fetish of passionate music.
8Loom
Selva Molhada

I just think everyone should listen to this. Post-hardcore with incredible violin presence.
9 Margot & the Nuclear So and So's
The Dust of Retreat

Heartbreaking chamber pop. Very mellow, though they've changed significantly as a band since this release.
10Bound Stems
The Family Afloat

Very quirky indie pop. I understand how stagnant the genre gets, but this band did an incredible job with this release, and it still stands above everything else I've heard in the genre personally.
11Born of Osiris
The New Reign

The pinnacle of modern deathcore, in my opinion. I will always love deathcore, even if my own music doesn't show it. Now, nothing to see here, pretend this one doesn't exist.
