12.06.11 | Basically why do we spend all our time here fighting over who hates nickelback more or care about the new Chelsea Wolfe video? (which was fucking dumb by the way) |

12.06.11 | Well, music helps me cope with everyday shit, as well as find those beautiful moments that make it all worth it |

12.06.11 | na idk. probably has something to do with the fact that it's strictly a subjective interest? that's the reason it's so fun to talk about. not everybody likes the same stuff... |
Yuli
12.06.11 | Yeah totally. It's not like you can say that one musician is objectively better than another, whereas with movies or videogames it's much more easily definable. |

12.06.11 | important.....im-por-tant... immmmpooorrrrrtaaannt-ah! Nah man, music is just fun. It's almost primal, in that I love listening to music and I don't know exactly why. Ask a neurologist, I bet they give you scientific shit like dopamine release in the BTBAM lobe. |

post of the night
it's something to do really, an interest that brings enjoyment much like video games, movies, sports, books etc. ultimately most of it has no point much like those things, but the really enlightening and glorious moments make it a worthy pursuit. |

12.06.11 | actually it's dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens |
RooseveltsGhost
12.06.11 | I took psych and neuroscience; everything is a dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens. Satisfying music is more than that. I take back what I said about musical enjoyment being primal; it's much more sophisticated than that, even if the Black Eyed Peas seem to cause a lot of it. There has to be something intrinsically intelligent about sonic structures, if they are produced for the sake of themselves and not for survival or mating purposes like some animals do. |

12.06.11 | what a gay question |
thatoneguy726
12.06.11 | if we're talking about music itself, i listen to it for the emotion and the art. but as far as getting into artists and albums, it's for a hobby. if i didn't keep up with a bunch of bands and play in one myself, i'd feel super boring and worthless. i don't really care about anything else like sports or news or academics like i do for music. |
