it's something to do really, an interest that brings enjoyment much like video games, movies, sports, books etc. ultimately most of it has no point much like those things, but the really enlightening and glorious moments make it a worthy pursuit. |

I take back what I said about musical enjoyment being primal; it's much more sophisticated than that, even if the Black Eyed Peas seem to cause a lot of it. There has to be something intrinsically intelligent about sonic structures, if they are produced for the sake of themselves and not for survival or mating purposes like some animals do. |

12.06.11 | if we're talking about music itself, i listen to it for the emotion and the art. but as far as getting into artists and albums, it's for a hobby. if i didn't keep up with a bunch of bands and play in one myself, i'd feel super boring and worthless. i don't really care about anything else like sports or news or academics like i do for music. |
