"Don't Believe". Good thrash isn't always about constancy; it's about tempo shifts and mood educing riffs. I could have easily chosen a track off Kreator's "Pleaure to Kill" or a ton of other thrash albums, but part of the purpose of the "M/ song of the day" is to also introduce some lesser known acts that make great music and deserve some attention. With that being said, "Don?t Believe" off of the By Inheritance album by Artillery, shows thrash in a different light. It starts with a very original clean riff and progresses into thrash riffs as the song picks up. The vocalist also adds another element of clean vocals that fit very well in the track. Although the vocals are clean sung, they have a perfect amount of rasp that drives the track forward. The guitars have the ability to show their skill without taking away from the mood, especially in the solos. I strongly encourage checking out the full album as the songs vary greatly and flee from monotony. And I must say this album is actually better than Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill".
