| 5 Favorite Songs Of 2011
Here are my 5 favorite songs of 2011; | 5 | August Burns Red Internal Cannon
I watched August burns red page and website daily, counting down the days
on my calendar for this. When Internal Cannon was released via soundcloud I
raced to the site and listened to it countless times. They kept it insanely abr
but with new touches and a nice mixing of 'Spanish' guitars. | 4 | Confession Piece By Piece
The singing just instantly pulls me into this masterpiece, it has such an ismfof
vibe and then just jumps straight into an amazing breakdown with some
pretty dam good lows. | 3 | Bury Tomorrow Lionheart
I love generic cleans, breakdowns and singing. So much. But this was the pure
winner of all of that for me! After recently seeing them at Ghostfest too so my
hype for them was high at the time, this release just made me pee my pants a
teeny bit. | 2 | Counterparts The Disconnect
From the day I discovered Counterparts I became a huge fan, they never
really took of down here in the South West of England, but I still had them
playing daily and kept an eye ons. When they released 'The Current
Will Carry Us', I literally ran home for my pre-order, but sadly it hadn't
arrived yet due to the Tee not fitting through the letterbox and being taken
to the post office.
So, I instantly downloaded it, and when that song started, woah, that was
it, they had done it again.
The lyrics relate to my 2011 so much and just about how I've been poisoned to hate the world around me and have no faith in myself.
Counterparts | 1 | Structures Clockwork
What more do I need to say other than..
'So you can fuck yourself'
The guest vocals by Alex Erian from Despised Icon (R.I.P) and Kevin McCaughey
from Ion Dissonance just increase the impact of anger that comes with the
breakdown at 1:45 in the track. This song has had countless plays on my itunes
and still remains a daily listen for me. | |
