01.14.16 | This took way too long. Far too much dicking about.
Fuck it I've missed a few. |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | Woah, the big one! Will need a few minutes to digest this :D |
Spacesh1p

onionbubs
01.14.16 | Nice list. There are some excellent picks here.
I always like Give 'Em Enough Rope the most from the Clash. Album is really underrated, but both the UK and US versions of self titled rule.
And needs more Devil and God lol |
Spacesh1p
01.14.16 | Happy Songs is also probably favorite Mogwai |
zakalwe
01.14.16 | I'm with ya bubs.
Safe European Home is top ten Clash tune. |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | Had no idea you dug Pantha Du Prince this much
I need to give 27 another spin, it has three absolute monster epics on there is all I know |
CalculatingInfinity
01.14.16 | Whopper list, need to hear 1 eventually. |
Rawmeeth38
01.14.16 | Lots of my faves on here as well. Great list. |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | I'm predicting Gavin Clark 'Beautiful Skeletons' will gatecrash this list in a month or so
Will put up my 100 faves on my Sputniversary in April, a few more months to unearth some more contenders |
NorthernSkylark
01.14.16 | I'm a thief and I dig this list! Wonderful selections. |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | It's a quality list |
zakalwe
01.14.16 | "Had no idea you dug Pantha Du Prince this much"
I absolutely love it doof dude but it does put into context how shite the last 15yrs have been. It's no Leftism.
|
danielcardoso
01.14.16 | Great list, bud. Only a few on here I haven't heard or you haven't rec'd me ahah, I should probably hear the ones I don't yet know. |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | 15 of these I haven't listened to so will need to check them all out |
zakalwe
01.14.16 | Good lad. Let 1 take over your life bro. |

DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | ...! |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.14.16 | Great list m8. Tons of essentials in here |
zakalwe
01.14.16 | Beast has the essence doof dude, it just wears tights. |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | I'll give the Beast a go, need to give one Maiden album a proper spin.
Also hope you noticed this is me committing to listening to another Smiths album too lol
Sunhouse has bought you a motherload of zak credits :D |
danielcardoso
01.14.16 | Trust me Doof, you need The Smiths in your life. |
Funeralopolis

evilford
01.14.16 | Breathe |
TwigTW
01.14.16 | Nice to see 3 and 6, surprised you like Morrissey Zac. I would have guessed you thought he was whiney. 23 is a great album tho . . . So many great albums.
|
zakalwe
01.14.16 | Twig dude I absolutey love Moz. The whining is an endearing trait with the man because he speaks so much sense. |
AmericanFlagAsh
01.14.16 | Props for 49! |
DoofusWainwright
01.14.16 | Flag you should give 1 a try - proto-Sufjan ;) |
ArsMoriendi
01.14.16 | Love Tago Mago :P |
zakalwe
01.14.16 | PJ Harvey would be knocking around thinking about it. I might extend this to the big ton. |
SgtAenema
01.14.16 | this list is awesome tbh |
ArsMoriendi
01.14.16 | Yeah PJ Harvey is a beast, still hyped for her upcoming album. |
zakalwe
01.14.16 | Cheers Sgt man.
The weird thing here is I have all of these on CD except me fave. The digital age has finally proven it's worth :D
|
AmericanFlagAsh
01.14.16 | So you've said Doof |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | 41 should be higher |
danielcardoso
01.15.16 | Yes it should :] |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Well there you go.
Still forgotten a few, the bottom 50 are a bit of a mish mash so the ranking is a bit here and there.
Feature this you fascist fucks. |
danielcardoso
01.15.16 | Nice additions, and yeah this needs a feature. |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | :D |
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | what the hell is a woob |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | 30 mins of world music, quantum leap samples and mind altering beats....and that's just the opener. |
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | just the opener!
I'm a noob to woob but will check |
Sinternet
01.15.16 | that is some cool shit there bro |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Cheers dude. Any you haven't spun? |
altertide0
01.15.16 | now that's what i call an eclectic list. i think the only major areas of rock music you're missing here are industrial and extreme metal, and even these are arguably covered by NIN and Slayer.
Hardly any of these would make it onto my list (these teen athems...), but oh well. and yeah 99 as 99 is a big mistake |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Industrial to me was always a bit poo.
Extreme metal? 90s death metal all the way. |
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | 100 should be lower |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | It wouldn't make my top 1000 doof dude.
Tut. MC5 - Kick out the Jams really needs to be here, I forgot PJ Harvey again as well!
Useless. |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.15.16 | That's why I've never done a list like this one. It changes all the time |
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | MSLG - I like a good top 100 though, that factor shouldn't put people off.
There's no hiding when you put down your top century of albums :D |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Ello sirlord dude.
That top 10 as it is has hardly changed in 25yrs. |
theBoneyKing
01.15.16 | Some legendary stuff here, a lot I need to check
2 has quickly become one of my favorites, 1 also to a lesser extent, still need to check 3. 4 and 11 are in my top 5 ever.
You're missing the best of the Dylan 65-65 trilogy though! :-( |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | I couldn't go overboard on bob dude. There's 3 of his in here and there would be more. I prefer Freewheelin to Highway
3 was 1 before OKC. |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Forgot Bonnie Prince Billy |
theBoneyKing
01.15.16 | Highway is the best for me mostly for Desolation Row. I need to listen to more Dylan.
I still say OKC is my favorite album but I'm not entirely sure that's true nowadays. |
PappyMason
01.15.16 | List is amazing |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Desire would be in here, The basement tapes would be hovering around as well.
Like I mention on the list OKC was the most hard hitting on first listen. When that thing first came out it was fucking unbelievable.
Radiohead were a 'big' band who did great rock tunes. That album absolutely floored and it still gets the hairs on end. It's a classic. |
CalculatingInfinity
01.15.16 | Red eyed sloth 4 eva [2] |
theBoneyKing
01.15.16 | Yeah sometimes I have to relisten to OKC just to remind myself of how good rock music can be. Absolutely immense. It redefined my conceptualization of great music. |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | There was a point when I was going to give crates of me CDs away. Other than 98, 91 58 and 1 these are all albums I own in physical copy among a shite load of others. I was going to give a copy of Who's next to user pheromone but he didn't bother his arse and I can't be bothered to shift em now.
|
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | Zak have you listened to any more Bonnie Prince Billy? Was thinking of putting up a BPB review or maybe the Palace Music 'viva last Blues' he released way back in the day |
guitarded_chuck
01.15.16 | lool best descriptions ever not even close |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Only a few of em doof and not that one. I'll check. |
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | 'New partner' is a classic tune on 'viva last blues'. Strangely I think I own more Will Oldham albums than any artist other than Bowie |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Off the top of me head Discogs in their entirety

Pavement

but they all look good so will check eventually
especially 32 I've been getting into jazz recently but haven't heard that yet |
DoofusWainwright
01.15.16 | Yeah Zak, the tunes I like on PHUQ are top marks just a few clunkers too |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | Neil Young sin dude.
Jazz is a relatively new thing for me to get into, started off as more of an admiration thing because it plays totally by its own rules and doesn't give the first fuck. 32 once digested is a thing of absolute brilliance. I jammed it a lot on my commutes awhile back and still do but Neil Young dude.
|
Sinternet
01.15.16 | ok ok jesus old man i will check neil young just for you |
zakalwe
01.15.16 | :D |

zakalwe
01.16.16 | Ha yep.
I have to put myself in the shoes of a 14yr old zak. What would I have thought of it....I really dunno. Probabaly would still have smelt the bullshit. |
NorthernSkylark
