08.15.16 | Some good stuff on here, nice. | Masochist
08.15.16 | Real good stuff on here. Rishloo, Kyuss, the three rap albums, good stuff.
Also...when you say I've been meaning to get into punk recently, it's less like opening a can of worms and more like taking on a Graboid from Tremors. What kind of punk are you looking to get into--old school, pop-punk, skate punk, hardcore, ska? There's a lot to get int... | ScuroFantasma
08.15.16 | Nice list, 5,6,8 rule especially hard. | MotoOnSputnik
08.16.16 | @Masochist, preferrably something on the heavier side, I'm not really into ska and I've listened to a decent amount of pop punk already. If you've listened to Death Grips last two albums something in that vein is what I'm looking for, as they inspired me to want to in the first place haha. I think it'd be considered hardcore. Also the movie Green Room | MotoOnSputnik

08.16.16 | check fugazi | BlacKapes
08.16.16 | gay and obvious list but i still love you man | MotoOnSputnik
08.16.16 | I did a while back Ava, I'll have to again I'd probably like it more now | TVC15
08.16.16 | There's a lot of styles and sounds to punk music so my recs won't be strictly punk rock
Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come; pinnacle of modern punk
United Nations - s/t; hardcore punk/grindcore
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks; punk rock
The Clash - s/t, London Calling; punk rock
Sonic Youth - EVOL; post-punk
Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose; folk punk
AJJ - People Who Can Eat People are the Luckiest People; (anti)folk punk
Anthrax - Among the Living; thrash that retains that good ol hardcore punkness of shout along group vocals, fast tempos, all that good stuff
Big Black - Songs About Fucking; noisy post-punk
Boris - Vein (Hardcore); Japanese crust punk
Catch 22 - Keasbey Nights; ska punk
Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain; gothic post-punk
Gospel - The Moon Is a Dead World; proggy post-hardcore/emo
Green Day - Nimrod; pop punk with some experimentation (including Good Riddance and a minute long hardcore punk song)
Husker Du - Zen Arcade; all kinds of raw punk rock
Iggy and The Stooges - Fun House, Raw Power; punk rock
Joy Division - Les Bains Douches 18 December 1979; raw punk rock
Black Flag - My War; hardcore punk with some obvious doom and sludge influences
Killing Joke - Brighter Than a Thousand Suns; gothic new wave
Tears for Fears - The Hurting; post-punk
Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible; punk rock
Metallica - Kill Em All; another thrash album that I think still retains a lot of hardcore punk ethos
Discordance Axis - The Inalienable Dreamless; grindcore
Pig Destroyer - Prowler in the Yard; grindcore
Napalm Death - Scum, The Peel Sessions; crust punk/grindcore
Nirvana - Live and Loud; punk rock
The Cure - Disintegration; gothic post-punk | DigitalSchism
08.16.16 | Nice to see 4
Edit: also props for 10. Somehow didn't see that the first time I looked through. | bentheREDfan
08.16.16 | Yeah Tool is the only band I like here. Not enough generic alternative metal for me, that's just my jam haha. | DigitalSchism
08.16.16 | Have you listened to Rishloo? they have a Tool vibe especially on Eidolon. |
