02.23.20 | I dont go through entire discographies all of the time, but it really depends. If its something heavier, I'll knock out an album whenever I'm in the gym. Sometimes at work, I have the opportunity to listen to music the entire 8 hours and will use that time to spin the next album(s) in line. If I have time to play videogames, I'll throw on an album in the background. I just pluck away at the discog whenever I can. Sometimes I get 4-5 albums down in one day, sometimes I get 1 over the course of a week or two. But I almost always start from the beginning and work chronologically.
Edit: oh and cleaning time around the house is another major music checking time |

02.23.20 | start off with the one that interests you most and then go for everything else |

02.23.20 | very carefully. discographies are easily startled and can be dangerous when they feel threatened. walk, don't run. speak in a calm, appeasing tone. don't make direct eye contact and avoid turning your back on discogs at all costs. |

02.23.20 | I always like to give every album one proper listen with lyrics open and then at least 1-3 background listens when going through someone's discography. Although I'm still in high school so I guess I have a lot more free time than you do |

02.23.20 | I listen while I watch my Avs play. Don't really need the commentary for the most part. Lauren Jbara is a babe though. |

02.23.20 | It's usually best to start with one of their most well-loved ones and see if that high point shows that their entire discography is probably worth it |

02.23.20 | It’s a discography you’re not diffusing a bomb. Just dive in for fuck sake or don’t. |

02.23.20 | I discovered Opeth around 2010. The first album I listened to was Ghost Reveries. Big mistake. |

02.23.20 | Heritage was my first step on the ladder and it’s still my fave. Discog is totally peppered with classics though. |

02.23.20 | I pretty much just listen to the most highly regarded one (either from sputnik/RYM ratings or general hype) or the one that sounds like it would appeal to me most from descriptions.
If I vibe with it, I check out their other albums (usually the ones released around the same time period first) and if I don't, I probably won't listen to their other stuff. If I don't like their most acclaimed album it's unlikely I'll like their other material, and life is short. Exception would be if they had a dramatic stylistic change. |

02.23.20 | I'll rarely listen to a whole discog unless I really love a band tbh |

02.23.20 | I like to go through a couple artists at a time so that I can alternate and not listen to the same band all day long |

02.23.20 | Maybe listen to an album or 2 a day and get a feeling for the bands evolution over the years. Some bands just lose the passion or energy while at the same time becoming better at their instruments/vocals |
