The Only Good Bands You Need To Know

A list that will tell you what you've been missing out on in many genres. Or perhaps you already know of these amazing bands!
1The Dillinger Escape Plan

You'd be hard pressed to find better mathcore, hell, they invented mathcore!
2Valient Thorr

Some of the best good old hard rock and roll I've ever heard. Prepare to
have your mind blown by kick ass guitars and drums! Also some great lyrics
to boot!
3Arctic Monkeys

Very very talented young musicians who make me want to listen to more
British indie music.
4Alien Ant Farm

Just an old favorite of mine that is very easy to listen to. It also helps that
everyone in the band is a fantastic musician :)
5Thrice

Great post-hardcore band all around.
6Alexisonfire

Very atmospheric feel which can be as abrasive as it can be soft. George
Pettit 's screamed vocals accompanies Dallas Green's beautiful vocals quite
well.
7Texas In July

One of the most promising Metalcore bands out there today. Best young
musicians i know of, period.
8The Decemberists

Such a great Folk/Indie band. Seeing them live seals the deal trust me!
9Sleigh Bells

Just really interesting. A guitar, synth, and vocals, thats all you need!
10Sylosis

Thrash metal at its absolute best. They deserve to be known by all who can
appreciate thrash! Josh Middleton continues to amaze me with is ability on
the guitar. Heaviest shit you'll hear that is tuned to E besides Dillinger!
11Sikth

May just be better than The Dillinger Escape Plan when it comes to
Mathcore elements, they are certainly more diverse musically. Damn shame
that they are no longer together :(
12August Burns Red

If you love metalcore you love August Burns Red by default.
13Boxbomb

Amazing Indie/Rock that will keep you listening for a looooong time! This
music has so much heart, it could make a grown man cry!
14Enter Shikari

Many haters, but they put on an amazing live show. I also love their lyrics
and use of electronics. Get on the Enter Shikari bandwagon and you won't
want to get off. Coolest guys ever.
15Circa Survive

You can't go wrong with Anthony Green's Stellar voice. Another band that
i'd like to use the word "atmospheric" to describe. Circa Survive is the
epitome of unique.
16Closure In Moscow

They are nothing less than brilliant. Another band that can put on a show
that will make you tear up with joy and utter amazement.
17Deftones

Their brand of Experimental rock only gets better as these dudes age. Their
latest "Diamond Eyes" blew my mind.
18Every Time I Die

Hard rock/metal for the educated.
19Exotic Animal Petting Zoo

Words can't begin to describe how sweet EAPZ's sound is. I want to call it
mathcore but it is so much more than that. They will make my top bands list
for the rest of my life.
20The Fall Of Troy

Mathcore for those new to the genre (meant in the best way possible). I
love everything they've ever written. Thomas Erak is a brilliant guitar
player, Frank Ene is a brilliant bass player, and Andrew Forsman is a
brilliant drummer. So many memories are associated with this band.
21Far-Less

Were as great of a post-hardcore(early material) band as they were a rock
band(later). Brandon Welch has some damn good pipes!
22Funeral For A Friend

I can't say great riffs enough when talking about FFAF. If you really listen to them
and play them, they are fantastically written. Everything else about them is of
course great as well.
23He Is Legend

I'd be real son of a bitch if i didn't include these hard hitters to the list!
24Incubus

Best alt rock EVER. Not enough good can be said about them.
25Mastodon

Holy shat. Thats all that can be said when hearing a crushing Mastodon song.
