Revisiting Prog

So ive been moving sligthly back into prog territories as of late. While rdoing this i happened to find some albums that are definetely rcandidates in becoming personal prog-favorites. I suspect atleast "The Psychedelic Ensemble" rand "Ozric Tentacles" to be fairly unknown on this site and i highly recommend you rto check them out, if you haven't allready.
1Yes
Relayer

Allthough i can't really say it pushes down "Close to the Edge" from the
number 1 spot on my Yes toplist, it definitely comes in on a close second
place. A truly splendid prog-rock album with lots of magic moments. "The
Gates Of Delirium" keeps interest on an all-time high despite its 21-minute
runtime. The last 6 minutes of the song are magically composed with
flowing melodies with Jon adding beautifully sung vocals about Peace and
War. I feel like the rest of the songs lack some of the strength that Delirium
posesses, although their all great listens, especially "To Be Over" and
"Soon".
2Rush
Signals

Another Great album by Rush that's still growing on me quite alot. Ive been
thinking of pushing this to a solid 5.0 from a 4.5, mainly because of the(imo)
complete absence of filler on this album. So far ive given this about 14 spins
and songs like "Subdivisions", "Chemistry", "Digital Man", "The Weapon"
and "Losing it" has been playing in my mind for days and days on end,
without showing any signs of leaving it any time soon. Definitely has
potential in becoming my favorite Rush album at the moment. Amazing
Prog-stuff!
3Psychotic Waltz
Into The Everflow

I can honestly say that i have a huge amount of exploring left to do in the
Progressive Metal territory, and that I definitely have higher thoughts about
doing it after hearing this album. A superbly composed set of songs
displaying great musicianship and songwriting. Great motherfucking riffs can
be found all over this album if youre willing to to do the research, aswell as
beuatifully interwhining melodies between guitarists Dan Rock and Brian
McAlpin. Just listen to it basically, you wont be dissapointed.
4The Psychedelic Ensemble
The Dream Of The Magic Jongleur

A fairly unknown group of musicians(hopefully just up until now) playing a
truly uplifting, heavely melodic style of Neo-prog. Overall really, really great
stuff, that should appeal to any prog-lover out there, and any other music-
lover for that matter.
5Ozric Tentacles
Become The Other

Oh my god, is this band fucking insane or what? Ozric tentacles plays a
style of spacey, quick, progressive rock with a hugh amount of electronic
elements thrown in aswell. The band has a really unique, psychadelic sound
that might be hard to digest at first, although it shouldn't be a problem
after a few listens. Alot of hte songs are also heavily middle-eastern
influenced, which gives it all a little extra spice. Basically 80% of their entire
discography is worth a listen, so fucking get to it!
