Wednesday, November 18th Bruce Springsteen was all mixed-up at a Friday night concert in Detroit, Michigan, proclaiming "Good evening, Ohio!" to a bemused audience, before repeating the mistake twice more.

Tuesday, November 10th Former Guns N' Roses/Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has recorded a cover of his old band's classic 'Paradise City' with Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and Cypress Hill.
The track is set to appear as a b-side on a Japan-only single also featuring the song 'Sahara' with Japanese singer Koshi Inaba. It is not yet known whether either of the tracks will appear on Slash's upcoming solo album, Slash & Friends, which has been penciled in for an early 2010 release via Roadrunner Records.

Saturday, November 7th Aerosmtih guitarist Joe Perry has claimed that Steven Tyler quit the band after a recent concert in Abu Dhabi:
"Steven quit as far as I can tell," Perry said. "I don’t know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know.

Wednesday, November 4th U2 will perform a free concert for 10,000 lucky Berliners on Thursday night to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The MTV-sponsored concert will take place by the Brandenburg Gate, mere metres from the site on which the wall had been built. The four-song mini-concert was planned to coincide with the 2009 EMAs taking place in the city on the night.
However, seemingly oblivious to the irony, MTV has insisted that the event will take place behind a protective barrier, disallowing all non-ticket holders from seeing the show.
A spokesperson for Berlin's city government placed all of the responsibility on MTV, stating: "I find it rather unfortunate and unusual for organisers of a free concert – particularly one of this nature – to demand such a barrier,” said a city spokesperson."

Sunday, November 1st The Red Hot Chili Peppers could release a follow up to 2006's 'Stadium Arcadium' by October 2010 according to drummer Chad Smith who told Clash Magazine "We're gonna write for a while, it usually takes us a while". He said the record could be released "sometime next year, maybe this time [next year]".
Smith also said that Flea's experience working with Thom Yorke recently had led to him receiving a CD of electronic music from the bassist. Smith didn't rule out the band going in an electronic direction saying "You never know. We've got songs with piano on them right now".
Chad Smith also commented on the band's recent nomination for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame saying "It's a real honor to be nominated".

Thursday, October 29th A 19-year-old Canadian folk singer has been killed after being attacked by coyotes while hiking in eastern Canada.
Taylor Mitchell was on tour in Nova Scotia and had taken the day off on Tuesday to go hiking in the Cape Breton Highlands national park.
Mitchell was attacked by a group of coyotes and, though other hikers heard her screams and managed to call for help, she died in hospital in Halifax on Wednesday morning.
Mounties on the scene managed to shoot one of the animals, which escaped, and later managed to find and kill another.
Mitchell was nominated for this year's Canadian Folk Music Awards in the "Young Performer of the Year" category, having released her debut album earlier this year.

Tuesday, October 27th Australian rockers Karnivool will release their latest album Sound Awake in the US on February 16 via Sony's SIN label. The album was originally released in Australia on June 5. According to an update on his official twitter account, Devin Townsend recently tried to post a new song to The Devin Townsend Project's MySpace.
That's when things got interesting. The singer-slash-guitarist's upload failed when MySpace prompted him to say that EMI owned the copyright, a fact the singer has reportedly disputed.
Nonetheless, the song, presumably a cut off of his upcoming release Addicted, should be available in some capacity in the near future.
The album's title track was posted three weeks ago on NoiseCreep.com.
The second album in a cycle of four, Addicted is due out on November 17th.

Wednesday, October 14th InMe have parted ways with guitarist Ben Konstantinovic over fears he would not be able to give his full commitment to the band.
Lead singer Dave McPherson broke the news to fans on the band's Myspace: "Me, Greg & Si have come to the decision to continue without Ben in the band. This was a hard choice to make as we're all good friends but InMe requires a level of absolute commitment that Ben couldn't give.
"I sat down & personally discussed it all with Ben & it was totally amicable & open. He is an amazing guitarist & it's a pleasure performing with him & I'll continue to do so outside of InMe. We will remain a 3 piece for the foreseeable future & will not be rushing into anything."
Konstantinovic joined InMe in 2008.

Saturday, October 10th Aussie progressive rock band Sleep Parade have two new members. This comes as original bassist James Livsey has left the band to travel overseas. He will be replaced by bassist Matt Delaney. Also, Sleep Parade have added Red Black to the band as a guitarist/keyboardist.
Sleep Parade are currently writing the follow up to their debut album Things Can Always Change, it is due for release some time in early 2010.

Thursday, October 8th In lei of the The Beatles' expansion into the Rock Band universe, U2 are now reconsidering their once defunct desire to have a Rock Band game of their own. Bassist Adam Clayton talked to USA Today: "We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren't what we wanted. That could change. I love the idea that that's where people are getting music and we'd love to be in that world. We'll figure something out."
He continued: "What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn't want to be caricatured."

Band manager Irving Azoff said in an issued statement that "Guns N' Roses vigorously contests these claims and intends to respond accordingly. British label 'Independiente' and U.S. arm of label 'Domino Recording Company' filed the lawsuit on Friday accusing Axl Rose of using portions of German electronic musician Ulrich Schnauss' songs without permission.
The songs are titled "Wherever You Are" and "A Strangely Isolated Place" and are accused of being used for Guns N' Roses new song "Riad N' the Bedouins". The record labels are looking for $1 million in damages.

Wednesday, September 30th A new single called "Keepin Halloween Alive" can be found on Alice Cooper's Myspace.
In regards to it's creation,
"“At home my family all gathers around an old spooky tree decorated with skulls and bones in the living room, and we exchange gifts,” says Cooper. “It’s our holiday. We even all have matching black-and-orange Halloween sweaters! I wanted a theme song for people like me, and for us Halloween never ends. In the chorus I say, ‘I’m keepin’ Halloween alive, baby, 3–6–5’... and I mean it!”

Monday, September 28th Butch Walker will release I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart early in the new year.
The album, Walker's first with his new band the Black Widows (taking over from the defunct Let's Go Out Tonites), was cut mostly live within a week earlier this summer.
In the meantime, Walker and the Black Widows will take up residency in LA's Hotel Cafe during the month of November, performing a different album in its entirety each Wednesday night: the first will be Letters, the second The Rise & Fall Of Butch Walker And The Let's Go Out Tonites, the third Sycamore Meadows and the fourth a fan's choice setlist.
Fans can request songs on Twitter, using the hashcode #butchwalkersetlist. Walker will also perform a select cover version at show, also chosen from Twitter requests.

Bands are only eligible for nomination after their first album or single is released.
"It's a real honor to be nominated in our first year of eligibility" said Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith to Billboard.
"Obviously the Hall of Fame has excellent musical taste."
The final decision on inductees is expected to be made in January, while the Hall of Fame itself is set to celebrate a special anniversary. Turning 25 years old in 2009, the organisation is due to hail this milestone with a series of special shows.
The concerts are set to take place at October 29th and 30th at New York's Madison Square Garden with performances expected from the likes of U2, Metallica, Stevie Wonder and Simon & Garfunkel.
