London Calling Legacy Edition

2009-11-10 by Nagrarok | 12 Comments
Classic punk act The Clash are to re-release their famous London Calling album on December 14. The album was originally released in 1979, hence it concerns a '30th Anniversary Legacy Edition'. Full details will be released later, but a CD/DVD package is expected.

The Clash enjoyed a 10-year career, from 1976 to 1986, and remain known as one of the most influential punk bands of all time. Iconic frontman Joe Strummer died almost 7 years ago, on December 22, 2002.

Didn't they just re-release this album in like... 2002?

Wikiedia consult: Okay, 2004. They have a 25th anniversary out then. That's the version I own.

I'll just wait until the 35th of 40th anniversary re-release, I think.

Somehow picked this up at Hastings for $3 on a whim back in the day just because I'd read about The Clash it in AP. Probably one of my top life decisions ever. One of the albums that sent me down a great road of music. I must have watched the dvd 10 times. Quite a good package.

London Calling took a few listens for me to sink in. Their debut is easier to get into, far more straightforward.

Re-releases are pretty dumb. Album is such a classic though.
