My Morning Jacket really should have taken the #1 spot

awesome to see the hold steady listed, ive wanted to see them live for so long and ive heard so many good things
ive seen radiohead, sigur ros and of montreal off this list and the first two are incredible on stage but of montreal wasnt that great

Needs Thrice, Manchester Orchestra, any metal whatsoever.
|
| |
I've seen Of Montreal, Pixies, The Hold Steady and The Flaming Lips (mostly at Lollapalooza though, hah) and agree that all 4 bands are pretty good live. Would've liked to see some metuhl though (Unearth, cough cough, Unearth).

you can't really expect paste magazine to include metal bands on their list when metal is clearly not their niche, seeing as i would wager they have never even mentioned a metal band in their existence as a website. ive heard good things about manchester orchestras live set though.
jealous you've seen the hold steady, inveigh. i must've caught of montreal at a bad time i guess, when did you see them?
|
| |
you can't seem to count on ANY magazine to throw a metal band on any list, really.
why doesn't terrorizer or decibel get in on this fad of "best stuff of the past decade"?
|
| |
Really good list. I've only seen the Decemberists once, but they top Radiohead as the best live act for me. The Hold Steady obviously rule live, too.
|
| |
Radiohead live has always struck me more as really good music being played competently, rather than them being an amazing live band to watch and hear. And having seen Springsteen live and up close, I really can't imagine him being topped.

MMJ hell yeah L'ville...
|

Word Kirgasm, that makes sense. Stupid of me. And yes, Manchester Orchestra kills live. I heard most of their new album was recorded live.

yay 10

list needs mute math
|

No Manowar?
