Flaming Lips to Perform DSotM

2009-11-30 by Prophet178 | 19 Comments
The Flaming Lips have previously announced that they will be doing a full album cover of Pink Floyd's classic album Dark Side of the Moon, however a flyer for a New Year's Eve party in the band's hometown of Oklahoma City has revealed that the band will be performing their cover album live in it's entirety that night starting at Midnight.

sounds pretty sweet despite the fact the album has been done over and over by a variety of artists. I could see these guys pulling it off better than some of their peers, tho they could surprise me

anotherbrick, your right. BUT, this idea is definitely not original. Dream Theater covered it, Phish covered it and Im sure a few others. Thats why Im saying if The Lips did Meddle, THAT would be something spectacular.

Regardless of how original it is, I think the Flaming Lips are the perfect band to pull it off. Very excited about this.

ya but overall dark side of the moon is pry a tad bit better then meddle as far as consistency goes...if the flaming lips tried playing seamus then no one would be around to make it to Echoes which is the reason that album is better then dark side...hell pink floyd only performed seamus one time ever, they knew it sucked
