I've no clue. I think I heard one song years ago and did't like it. But these covers are pretty neat from the two I've heard.

Heard this on the radio at an eye appointment so really didn't get to enjoy it much but it sounded pretty cool actually

Just listened to it, it's not bad at all. Wouldn't go as far to say it's as good as the original but it definately is worth a listen.

I like Gabriel's material (both with and post-Genesis), and I can't imagine this being any different.

@ Anotherbrick, I recommend checking out Melt, So, and Us. They're all amazing.

You all need to hit up YouTube and check out Gabriel's video for Sledgehammer. It's incredible.

Also, I love his vocals in this version. Really well done.

Gabriel's a genius and a pioneer of music. Get Peter Gabriel III ("Melt"), So and Us, you won't be disappointed

This album leaked a few weeks ago. Pretty much rules, his cover of Radiohead's "Street Spirit" is incredible. The cool thing is, all the artists he covered are doing a cover album of their own (entitled And I'll Scratch Yours) where each artist covers a Peter Gabriel song. That's a pretty awesome idea

This could be interesting, although I haven't given any work by Gabriel a listen past Genesis, most of which was some of the best 70's prog ever created.

You're right Nag.
My Peter Gabriel post Genesis ranking:
'So', 'III', 'Us', 'Security', 'Up', 'I' and 'II'
Need to say that 'Secret World Live' is grandiose.

Hmm, not terrible, but imo Bon Iver shouldn't ever be covered, since it's impossible to replicate the feelings of his songs, and thus a cover will inevitably fall short of the original..

peter gabriel has also written some of the best pop songs ever, namely "sledgehammer" and "digging in the dirt"

Since when did covers stop to be another's artist's personal take on a song?

Nah i didn't mean that man, i just meant that in my opinion it's almost futile to cover a song from an album like FE, FA, since the songs are already so personal - and so no cover could truly imitate the feelings of the original.

He wasn't trying to imitate anything, it's his own take on the song and it doesn't have to even sound like the original

Mmm, to a certain extent of course he's trying to imitate something. It's a cover song.
He must've had some feeling toward the song himself to even want to cover it anyway, which implies something about the song must have struck him. ie, the original sentiment of the song.
