2010-03-15 by Enotron | 44 Comments
Wu-Tang Clan members Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon are very close to releasing their collaborative effort entitled Wu-Massacre. After allowing the album to go through multiple producers, including RZA on the first single, "Our Dreams", the album will finally be released on March 30.

Change the news to "First single announced" or something, that'll work. And fuck yeah, album's gonna be all kinds of good, seriously don't know why people are worried about this

Can't figure out how to delete it. Seeing as Our Dreams was released in January, that still isn't really news.

Don't think you can delete news, just edit. Ask the usual suspects:

How's that title?

I'd rather be surprised by how good this is than disappointed by how much of a let down it is. Hopefully the former.

Very nice. Seeing as this was my first experiment with sputnik news, this could've been a lot more embarassing.

I like Our Dreams, its kind of a grower.

I've only heard snippets of it. It has a Jackson Five sample, right?

I heard youngstown heist and the production sounded really cluttered and dense.

I kinda like Our Dreams, I'm not expecting anything amazing out of this. However it should be a solid album. Wish I could see the GZA though.

"Meth, Rae, and Ghost are the best Clan rappers"

uh GZA? Meth is about #5

While GZA has a couple of great solo albums, Meth is the most consistent on Wu Tang Clan records(and guest appearing on other solo records as well).

Though Liquid Swords is probably the best Wu-related solo album.

Basically, around Wu inception, probably GZA and RZA were my faves, but as the mobile got going, things changed.

But anyone who actually thinks Meth is the most consistent, seriously hasn't heard Tical 2000 and the Prequel, both turds.

Deviant they've released 4 tracks from this album already. I think the album will be alright but
nothing great. Don't get me wrong though I still have high hopes

@Bulldog I definitely love the cover art that shit's pretty damn cool.

But as far as rapping I think GZA has been as consistent as anyone. Sure his albums haven't been as
consistent as Ghost's but it's always the production that's lacking, never GZA. GZA>* for me, but I
love any Wu fan no matter what their preferences are.

About to go relisten to the releases from this. I hope I was wrong on my first impressions.

EDIT: I need to keep listening to songs off youtube, the quality makes everything sound so much
shittier. Just listened to some good quality versions of the songs and Meth vs. Chef 2 was pretty
damn good, Criminology 2.5 was good, Miranda was alright (I was wrong about this one, it's just part
of the song), still don't like Our Dreams though, just sounds too much like they were trying to make
a radio-friendly single.

Just got way more excited for this thought shit this is kind of nice.

I know that Tical is his only good solo album, but I was talking about on actual Wu-Tang Clan records, as well as his appearances on other solo albums.

4:21 the day after wasn't bad. And Meth is damn good, but he's far from the most consistent.

I'm with Enotron, I only Method Man on Tical and then on Clan records and appearences on other solo records (he was great on House Of Flying Daggers for instance). I've heard this all the way through, and I'm liking it a lot actually

Inveigh

production is definitely shoddy, but I thought that was just the version I had. Anyone notice that one of the beats is the same as the first track off Shadows On the Sun by Brother Ali?

Interesting because there was an Atmosphere beat (Say Hey) that was used on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt II. which I found interesting. Then immediately, the first words on the next track are "rappers steppin' to me, they want a brick, son!" which is a play on a Big Daddy Kane line that Atmosphere bit on the song Guns and Ciggarettes back in like 1999. What's with all the Rhymesayers love Wu-Tang???
