Filter working on a new album

2012-02-26 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 26 Comments
In an interview with TNH Online, Filter front man Richard Patrick announced that the band is working on a new album, called 'Gurney and the Burning Books', that will reportedly be harder and more aggressive. This is due to him and current guitarist Johnny Radtke experimenting with Drop B and C tunings and also more screaming vocals.

The new album is scheduled to come out this summer and there is also a possibility for a live album to be released this year using the recordings from a show in Germany.

The interview can be accessed here http://www.tnhonline.com/arts/lead-singer-of-filter-won-t-subscribe-to-a-label-1.2795201#.T0phl_XFmuL

Richard Patrick can not sing well at all anymore. I saw them live opening for Chevelle and Bush and he just cant hit high notes or do hard vocals.

Eh, enjoyed Title of Record or whatever back in the day but was never really a big fan. I never thought they were very talented musically, and this article reinforces that notion. "It's gonna be more aggressive because we're using drop c now!" Or hell, it might just be the article-writer drawing these kinds of assumptions.

Looking forward to this. They've been slowly getting away from their more pussier stuff.

since you seem to not know what i'm talking about, i'd steer clear of the youtube comments for any of this band's songs from the last album, it's pretty bad

you'll understand where i'm coming from if you give them a read sometime

and for the record this band aren't bad, just unremarkable to me

I bought Short Bus at a thrift store a while back, and the only songs I really remember liking a lot were Dose and one other one...but I guess I'll check this out
