eh

| |
kind of a let down the world needs some more rage, especially now they probably have a lot to say
but the project actually sounds pretty cool so im interested
|
| |
Would you listen to your grandfather if he was rapping over Guns N' Roses riffs?
|
| |
I'm intrigued. The band's silence while the world around us is descending into a right wing nightmare is disappointing
|
| |
You can thank the left wingers for going too far left too quickly for the right wing backlash/rise.
|
| |
I think it's more to do with the fact that the people in charge now are children of Cold War America, so they don't know how to respond to the younger generations moving to the left.
|
| |
No. The norms of those individuals you're referring to have been established throughout their lives and are being challenged all at once. It doesn't matter who is right. You cannot change deep rooted, ingrained, and inherently resistant points of view by quantity alone. They must be tackled through arguments of quality. And the idea of one state sending the federal government off in a tizzy - North Carolina's current bathroom issue - shows incompetence and immaturity on their side too.
|
| |
I'd like to hear a new rage album considering the current political issues we face today, but I didn't really enjoy their last album. Public enemy collab sounds fun though.
|
| |
tl;dr basically this centralized movement to make everything equal for everyone all of the time is bullshit. life isn't fair. but that fact that it isn't fair makes you strive to better yourself and reach your true potential. If nothing sets us apart we lose our drive.
|
| |
My guess is it'll be the three instrumental members of RATM and Chuck D... maybe others too. I'd be surprised if Zack is involved... I get the feeling the other three guys have been interested in working together again for a long time but Zack isn't. Audioslave Pt. 2, here we come I guess.
|
| |
literally who cares
|
| |
"basically this centralized movement to make everything equal for everyone all of the time is bullshit."
Not sure which "movement" you're referring to... Left-wing politics as a whole? Democratic socialism? Social justice? I don't think any of those movements think everything is ever going to be "equal for everyone all of the time", but the goal is at least to level the playing field as much as possible.
|
| |
turn the radio on
nah, fuck it
TURN IT OFF
|
| |
Also not saying I agree with all of the tenets of any of the philosophies I mentioned, but someguest's argument seemed to be setting up a bit of a strawman in order to knock it down, and was vague about what exactly it was criticizing.
|
| |
literally who cares
123 tbh
Not sure which "movement" you're referring to... Left-wing politics as a whole?
Yeah. I'm a lefty and I'm getting tired of it. At some point individuals need to be accountable for themselves.

The problem is for every action there is a reaction. You help one group, another gets screwed. It's not a net gain or loss. It's a shift in who has more in the moment.
|
| |
Called it:
http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/7377487/rage-against-machine-public-enemy-cypress-hill-prophets-rage
|
| |
You have to be vague these days. If you name a specific issue the shit-hurlers that support it will come out of the woodwork and cover you with the feces they roll in.
|
| |
Woo, I called it about the 5 piece too. With B-Real and Chuck D it should be a really interesting project.
|
| |
"The problem is for every action there is a reaction. You help one group, another gets screwed."
Obviously. If there's an imbalance, and the balance is then shifted, the group who currently has more power/wealth/influence/whatever will have less. That's not inherently a bad thing. The devil is in the details of HOW much the balance shifts. You can argue some of these philosophies advocate for too much of a shift, and I'd probably agree, but it depends on the instance we're talking about.
|
| |
Rage minus Zach playing Rage music again and not avg af alt rock. Hyped as fuck. Sadly it's not a Rage reunion but it's the next best thing.
|
| |
Yeah, we all know Cypress Hill have sometimes ventured into politics before, so let's hope B-Real keeps away from the weed songs and sticks to the politics full throttle in this. Cypress Hill can have all the weed songs.
|
| |
That's not inherently a bad thing.
Never said it was. Politicizing it is, and that's all this administration has done with social issues.

It was never my objective. Dats said the world was descending into a right wing nightmare (about as broad as a statement can get) and I responded with more broad, sweeping statements that could be true to yank his chain.
|
| |
their cover of how i could just kill a man is dope so this intrigues me
|
| |
this will be amazing I'm sure. As long as Zach and Tom are involved.
|
| |
If the rumours are true, there's no Zack. The frontmen will be Chuck D and B-Real but they're both awesome frontmen anyway.
|
| |
So basically: Audioslave Pt. 2: Chuck D Edition. I can dig it.
|
| |
We fuckin' need a new RATM album ASAP.
|
| |
"Never said it was. Politicizing it is, and that's all this administration has done with social issues."
...As opposed to conservative administrations who do the exact same thing on the other side? I get what you're saying but I don't think this administration does it any more or less than previous ones.
" responded with more broad, sweeping statements that could be true to yank his chain."
Fair enough lol
|
| |
zack pls
|
| |
pls
let this be the year that RATM releases new material. this is shaping up to be such a great year for music and this would just be a cherry
|
| |
no zack, no party
|
| |
fuck the cherry, new rage music would be a whole other sundae
|
| |
not stoked overrated band
|
| |
No Zack, unfortunately. It's Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, along with Chuck D and B-Real from Cypress Hill.
|
| |
Wahou, I've just witnessed a political discussion (btw someguest and beachdude) that didn't turn to shit and wasn't deepdly retarded. On the internet. I'm astonished.
|
| |
I don't really feel Chuck D over metal instrumentation. B-Real's cool.
|
| |
The world needs some Rage tbh
|
| |
What is with Zack?
|
| |
He's basically locked up in his home studio trying to finish the One Day As A Lion album
|
| |
countdown until RATM announce their endorsement of the Trump campaign.
|
| |
That things are so awful in this country certainly isn't prompting me to have a desire to better myself or reach full potential. All it's doing is making me want to die because everything is a fucking impossible chore. Tired of getting fucked over by society.
Also, another supergroup, ugh. We need Rage.
|
| |
Give us one more rage album then you should do this.
|
| |
"He's basically locked up in his home studio trying to finish the One Day As A Lion album"

"countdown until RATM announce their endorsement of the Trump campaign."

|
| |
This has the potential to suck all the dicks. But B-Real's cool, yea.
|
| |
Chuck D and B-Real fronting RATM is so fucking badass jesus christ
|
| |
y'all Chuck D is kinda different from Chris Cornell lol
this should be damn sick
|
| |
"You can thank the left wingers for going too far left too quickly for the right wing backlash/rise."
i'd like to think this is sarcasm
|
| |
Band is official. Think they're playing in LA now (IDK what LA time is so couldn't tell)
|
| |
i guess you could say the band b real
|
| |
