The music sounds very good tbh
|
| |
finally a booklet worthy of my 5k screen.
|
| |
almost tempted to do it for the anti-loudness war remaster of their debut
|
| |
Probably not the first time Jari's followed up months of cockteasing by revealing an overhyped package
Digging: Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere |
| |
fuck this guy, just release your shit already. why the fuck would anyone want to help this greedy asshole get his own studio when some dildo with a mac could make an album with better production than any wintersun record anyway
|
| |
Wow they have 3 crowdfunds going on at the same time to reach the same goal? That's kinda messed up.
inb4 The Forest Package sounds like something pubic hair related.
|
| |
Already over 121,000 Euros... Why do people keep giving Jari money?
|
| |
Fuck you Jari
|
| |
can't wait to spin this on youtube ten minutes after the mp3s drop.
|
| |
lol
|
| |
Fuck that crowdfunding is working out really well for them so far. I expect this to easily go way beyond the initial goal of 150k. I seriously hope that Nuclear Blast has some control over this project though. having these amounts of money handled by people such as Jari and his enablers could go very ugly very quickly.
The music sounds pretty disappointing, more of the Time II overblown symphonic mess, but hard to tell since its barely 30 seconds. will torrent this when it leaks and then see if its worth buying. way to go Jari, definetely catering to the music listeners needs in 2017.
|
| |
127k already. They must be laughing in their new sauna.
People are chumps. Won't be supporting this.
|
| |
y'all mad as fuck lol
|
| |
gladly added my fitty euros to the pile of cash stacking up right now. self-titled debut was one of the best albums ever made. if you cry-babies don't want to give him money, don't. just don't go wandering around with your hard dicks and dripping pussies after you listened to the forest seasons telling everyone how much you love wintersun and how they finally released a new album.
|
| |
^ lol this fanboy retard actually gave them money.
Digging: Black Curse - Burning in Celestial Poison |
| |
^ and you should, too. even without your sorry ass help, they'll probably finish their crowdfunding today tho. so no worries, you'll hear new wintersun soon without contributing yourself.
|
| |
Because enjoying music = blindly giving out ridiculous sums of money to any cause just because the band tells you to
The amount of people with this logic in comment threads has astounded me
|
| |
"so no worries, you'll hear new wintersun soon without contributing yourself."
That's the plan
|
| |
If you want to tempt insanity just read the comment section on the announcement. It's amazing how blind people can be
|
| |
"Because enjoying music = blindly giving out ridiculous sums of money to any cause just because the band tells you to"
i don't know if any of you actually read what is going on. the plan is clearly laid out for you in the video linked in the news article. you pay 50 euros and get the new album plus remasters of their two previous ones, various versions of the new one and other stuff you don't have to like, but it's certainly no rip-off. are you also trying to control what other bands do with their money? i don't think so. you don't pay for anything that is not done or merely a promise.
|
| |
No, we follow it. Basically Jari is a diva and takes advantage of fans to milk Wintersun for all the cash its worth.
|
| |
so 50 euros is a rip-off for that package in your opinion?
|
| |
"but it's certainly no rip-off"
That's just, like, your opinion man
"are you also trying to control what other bands do with their money? "
Other bands charge you 10$ tops for a digital DL and from there they can do whatever they want with the money idc
No other band in metal has ever had the nerve to insist on charging 50E for some digital downloads under the ridiculous pretext that they need their own studio to record their music properly. They recorded Forest Seasons so either 1. their claim is a lie or 2. the forest seasons wasn't properly recorded and you just paid 50E for a subpar product.
If they want money for a studio they can get it like any other band, by actually recording albums every couple of years, touring, selling merch, etc and they wouldn't be getting this kind of flack for it
|
| |
The package doesnt even sound that bad on its own but after the bullshit he's put fans through for years and the fact that the albums already done and that casual threat that it only comes out if they reach the ridiculous goal it's just super laughable overall
|
| |
Sounds like the Deus Ex pre-order all over again.
|
| |
"The package doesnt even sound that bad on its own but after the bullshit he's put fans through for years and the fact that the albums already done and that casual threat that it only comes out if they reach the ridiculous goal it's just super laughable overall"
i hear that. also your arguments are legit, SCREAM!. they still don't force anyone to pay what they want for the digital package, so do not support them if you don't like it. i'm also sick of Jaris constant teasing over the years without even releasing a single track to the fans or anything at all. still, i find the price for the package is ok and i'm willing to forgive him his bullshit if they actually go through with their plan. they make amazing music and i want to hear more.
|
| |
The thing is, you'll get the music at the same time regardless of whether you spend the money or not.
|
| |
yup. but then again, i'm truly a fanboy of wintersun. i go back a long way with their music and support them from my heart. and my wallet. jari is a diva, yes. but i still want him to realize that juicy dream he has to make mine of future revolutionary wintersun albums come true ;)

"If they want money for a studio they can get it like any other band, by actually recording albums every couple of years, touring, selling merch, etc and they wouldn't be getting this kind of flack for it"
Okay, I'ma play Devil's advocate here.
In their defense, only a few comments prior there were a number of users saying they were going to happily download the entire package without contributing, and when you consider that a few thousand if not tens of thousands of people have the exact same idea, the money they're losing pretty crazy.
Sure, 50 Euros is pretty steep, but you're getting 3 albums worth of previously unheard material, plus several versions of those same albums including isolated studio tracks and 2 remasters. You can't say they didn't at least TRY to give their fans value.
Am I going to contribute? Probably not (I know I'm being a hypocrite here lol), but I do hope they succeed simply because I want to here more material from them and I'll no doubt buy more stuff when they (hopefully) start pumping out releases with some regularity at a viable price tag.
Is Jari a prima donna with a massive ego? Sure, but so are a bunch of high profile musicians and artists who live in luxury while charging their teen fans three-figures to attend their concerts with thousands of other people on top of $15+ compressed iTunes downloads of barely an hour's worth of material, but I don't see anyone complaining there.
Ultimately, if this project wasn't justifiable in the eyes of Wintersun's fans then they wouldn't be forking out their cash for it, so the proof is in the pudding.
I just really want my cheese fix tbh
|
| |
Stop Jac, you're dropping too much logic and reason.
|
| |
Eh that last paragraph just boils down to "people are doing it so must not be that bad" which isnt a good argument, otherwise fair points
|
| |
very nice jac my man, the relativity-of-the-price-argument is a good one. aside from me being a fanboy, i also thought of that. there were ridiculous amounts of money spend for a lot of way more useless shit than this.
|
| |
AUGMENT YOUR WINTERSUN FUCKERS
|
| |
"that last paragraph just boils down to "people are doing it so must not be that bad" which isnt a good argument"
I mean at least Wintersun are giving their fans an absolute shitload of content for their money. If you don't wanna buy it, you don't have to, that's the beauty free will! But I know almost every single person here that is hanging shit on the band is gonna illegally gobble up their music within like 24 hours of release. Don't act like you don't wanna hear this lol
|
| |
Wow this argument actually cooled down and everyone is ok now. I have literally never seen this before on Sputnik in all my years.
|
| |
Yeah im curious because the s/t was good and i want another good album but realistically it will probably be as shit as Time.
|
| |
Ill for sure give it a listen because the self titled is pretty dece but yea im not giving them a cent for their behavior lol
|
| |
"Sure, 50 Euros is pretty steep, but you're getting 3 albums worth of previously unheard material, plus several versions of those same albums including isolated studio tracks and 2 remasters. You can't say they didn't at least TRY to give their fans value."
But what about fans that can't afford 50E or just aren't interested in all the excess and just want the new album? Part of my problem with this is the 1-tier approach he's using to wrangle 50E out of people.
Also, the whole fact that he's had access to major label funding/resources for what, 15+ years now? This whole project just stinks of dishonesty and taking advantage of fans' goodwill. He doesn't NEED this studio the way he claims to (the 3 albums he's recorded so far attest to this) and he's been absolute shit to his label (which he and fans are painting as being the bad guy here.
|
| |
"But what about fans that can't afford 50E or just aren't interested in all the excess and just want the new album"
They'll download it and delete what they don't want?
|
| |
Is the 50E legit the only option for a donation because that would be retarded
|
| |
no you can donate whatever you want, but you'll have to pay 50 euros to get the forest seasons package. there is no way of legally obtaining the album without paying for the package.
|
| |
That's so weird that they don't have like a 10E option to get just the album itself and some similar variations. Just like "donate some small amount cuz you wanna help I gues or pay 50E for a bunch of cool shit" where's the middle ground ya kno
|
| |
If that's the case, then album won't get a listen from me.
|
| |
So my band Summermoon has five albums worth of material ready to release, but instead of sharing our music with our fans, we'd like to first hold our music for ransom to extort our diehard followers so that we might build a studio complete with sauna, full bar, and indoor go-kart course, so that we can more efficiently create and release more new music. For a meager donation of €75, you will receive nothing tangible, but instead, a digital copy of one of our new albums, along with an acoustic version, karaoke version, 8-bit midi version, and dubstep remixes to help us reach our goal of €3 million. Thank you for your continued support!
|
| |
Tbh dubstep remixes of the s/t would've made the package 100% more appealing
Take notes Jari
|
| |
They said each of the 3 crowdfunding campaigns will have different contents, maybe the second or third will have a physical component. The only way this shyster is getting 50 bucks from me is if I'm getting something physical, whether its vinyl or the backlog on CD.
Also the music in the background of the video that is from the new album sounds like it rules.
|
| |
physical components of crowdfundings are alway a pain in the arse because of all the incalculable shipping costs. More than one successful campaign got wrecked over this in the past.
|
| |
Crowdfunding stuff aside, this new material sounds really good.

This makes Allegaeon seem like philanthropists. At least they admitted it's so they don't have to work day jobs anymore, this guy wants his fans to build him a fuckin monument with a throne in it.

just gullible
|

"no you can donate whatever you want, but you'll have to pay 50 euros to get the forest seasons package. there is no way of legally obtaining the album without paying for the package."
have to correct myself here. nuclear blast will release the album in physical form in july, so there is the chance to obtain a retail version in a "normal" manner and certainly below 50 euros.
|
| |
Wintersun's studio hijinks are reaching brokeNCYDE levels of cringe here.
Just making the fucking album, you have enough money to do so, and you don't need a fucking grandmaster studio, Jari's ego is the size of a small planet.
|
| |
"They've already reached the goal. In around thirteen hours."
Well, this man is a genius. No two ways about it.
|

Outside of buying his albums, I would never give this man money.

Well, I won't donate a penny even though I'm a fan of his music.

It's interesting to see all of the disapproval in this thread when they blew that goal out of the water in a day, and it's still steadily climbing. They definitely know what they are doing.
|

They're getting flamed on every thread I've seen but the money just keeps pouring in. It's like Trump votes -- where are they all coming from?? Who knows, they just are!

I think they were trying to imply that Jari "is truly mental"
|
| |
Wintersun was never good enough to warrant the insane delay required for Time followed let alone this garbage.
Jari is an absolute moron, the number of "computer problems" he had working on the very underwhelming Time show complete incompetence in the production sphere. Watch him sink this money into some below average facility and then proceed to underutilize all of his gear.
Like someone said above, there are literally guys who have done better with a macbook, audio interface, and some basic gear. Notwithstanding people who are actually great producers and worthy of a 150k studio.

I think 50 euro is ridiculously cheap. It's literally not much more than a lunch at a cafe or a night out drinking some beers. I'm not even that big of Wintersun fan, but I'm certainly supporting this and the "anti loudness-war" remasters are a great idea and shows that Jari's has the right attitude when I comes to music production.
I'll also pre-order the vinyl when it goes up for pre-order soon at Nuclear Blast.
|
| |
"I think 50 euro is ridiculously cheap. It's literally not much more than a lunch at a cafe or a night out drinking some beers."
where tf do you live?
|
| |
"where tf do you live?"
I live tf in Denmark, which is an expensive country, but I would still argue that for anyone with even a moderately paying job, 50 euro is not much. I just checked the US hdtracks.com and most albums there are around $20, so 50 euro for 4 albums (the new one, the 2 remastered plus the live album) is very reasonable. On top of that you get stems for the new album and digital arwork and booklets for all albums.
If you don't want all that and just want the new album then obviously this package is not for you and you can just wait and buy the CD, vinyl or digital download when it's released by Nuclear Blast in July.
|
| |
"I think 50 euro is ridiculously cheap. It's literally not much more than a lunch at a cafe or a night out drinking some beers. "
Comparing apples and oranges here. 50E to pre order an album is stupid expensive. There's no two ways about it
|
| |
"Comparing apples and oranges here. 50E to pre order an album is stupid expensive. There's no two ways about it"
If it was 50 euro for just a download of the new album, I agree that would be a little steep. It's not that though. You're pre-ordering a package including 4 albums plus stems for the new album and digital booklets for all 4 albums.
I understand that some people don't want that whole package and would like to just purchase the new album. If that's what you want then simply buy the new album on any format you like from Nuclear Blast. They wrote yesterday on Facebook that pre-orders will be up soon.
I fail to see any controversy here. Everybody is free to buy (or not buy) the new album in any form they like.
|
| |
"50E to pre order an album is stupid expensive. There's no two ways about it"
But it's not just pre-ordering their album......
|

idgaf about the new material I just want to know how that sauna is coming along

"I think 50 euro is ridiculously cheap."

If you're paying 50 euros at a cafe for lunch then jesus christ you are a wildly irresponsible spender but probably also rich so hey more power to you
|
| |
Considering I can feed myself, my dog and my cat for 50 euros a week, it's a significant amount in my eyes.
|
| |
"Considering I can feed myself, my dog and my cat for 50 euros a week, it's a significant amount in my eyes."
If that's really the case, then I can see how spending 50 euro on music is too much.
That doesn't mean that the price is not reasonable, though.
|
| |
I think the price would be reasonable if it came with physical editions and perhaps downloads of the stems/different mixes. But for all 100% digital content, there's a tangibility that feels lost when handing over your hard-earned money. Reading a album booklet in 5k doesn't mean much compared to the feeling and value of reading a physical copy, but that's just me. I understand there's a lot of work and worth put into make it a valuable package, but there is money far better spent on other things. But hey if you love Wintersun enough then more power to you I guess.
|
| |
"But hey if you love Wintersun enough then more power to you I guess."
I don't love Wintersun. I think they're ok, but I'm curious about the new album and I really want the dynamic remaster of their debut album, so for that I'm willing to pay the price they're asking.
If I end up loving the new album I'll buy it on vinyl as well since I do agree that there is something special about owning a physical copy :-)
|
| |
Is there any guarantee that the remasters will even be good? The track record for remastered popular metal albums is not great by any means.
|
| |
"Is there any guarantee that the remasters will even be good? The track record for remastered popular metal albums is not great by any means."
Obviously there's no guarantee but the mention that it'll be an "anti loudness-war" mastering gives me hope that the debut album will be an improvement. "Time I" is already mastered well, IMO, so I don't expect much difference there. "Time I" could use a remix though, but that's another story...
|
| |
I remember when Time I came out and how utterly disappointing that was. I'm against the whole crowdfunding thing on principle, but hopefully now he has enough money to make a decent sauna... I mean album.
|
| |
also hats off to Nuclear Blast for being apparently really patient with this whole fiasco.
|
| |
Hell, they're probably taking a cut
|
| |
"Is there any guarantee that the remasters will even be good? The track record for remastered popular metal albums is not great by any means."
True
|
| |
"Hell, they're probably taking a cut"
If that was the case I feel like Jari would've included that in his "budget" and used it as an excuse to cause more indignation and sucker more money out of people
|
| |
I think more people sympathize with the fact that they are donating to help one man, not a man and a giant record label.
|
| |
part of their deal with Jari seems to be that they get to put out the physical album later in the year, so they *are* getting a "cut" in a sense. Letting them have their kickstarter and get on with putting out records is probably a good business move by NB, especially since they can continue to act as distributor in the future.
|
| |
I really do not understand why there's so much hate towards this crowdfunding project. Isn't metal all about individualism etc? Isn't the music industry fucked up and you basically can't live from selling records anymore? You are even hoping that the label gets a cut from the crowdfunding? This attitude is not really helping musicians who would like make a living from creating and playing music.
You need new and individual ideas/solutions. If Wintersun choses this way, why not? Seems to work for them, which is great. Those who prefer the old "produce an album every 2 years and then proceed to tour Europe/USA, repeat" can still do it, nothing changes if Wintersun is successful with the crowdfunding.
|
| |
No one said they hope the record label is getting a cut, idiot. And its been explained by plenty of people in this thread why this is a load of shit on Jari's part, try reading it. Youre basically asking "whats wrong with crowdfunding?" No ones saying its inherently bad. Apparently youre just ignoring the details of this situation, either that or they slipped by you.
|
| |
"No one said they hope the record label is getting a cut, idiot."
I do. Jari signed a deal with them and has found everyway not to deliver on it and paint them as this evil company who stifles his creativity and is trying to hold him back so yeah, I hope they get as much as they can out of the guy.
|
| |
They're doing the physical release in the summer, I think? Like I've said before: Nuclear Blast is gon get they money.
"I really do not understand why there's so much hate towards this"
freshen up on your Wintersun history then eh. Band have misled people for ages saying Time II was being recorded or it was done being recorded or they needed a new computer to begin recording it, or they needed a new computer and a new studio to record it, or nah nvm they actually hadn't started yet, and then tried [for years] to guilt-trip their label and their fans into helping get them a studio by saying how they have looooads of records written but we'll never hear them if the band don't get a studio of their own #freewintersun #nuclearblastsobad #finland #sauna2016.
|
| |
"They're doing the physical release in the summer, I think? Like I've said before: Nuclear Blast is gon get they money."
Yeah but what I'm saying is that, with the shit they've had to endure over the 10+ years Jari has delayed and thrown the blame on them, I wish them luck in getting everything they can out of the guy.
|
| |
I think they will. No way they would've let him crowdfund at all if they weren't getting a lucrative agreement out of him. I'm betting they get distributor rights for his next few records/merch at least, just no influence on the records themselves... like I assume Devin Townsend does where he just makes a record and ships it off to Century Media when he's done.
|
| |
Come on scream, youre making me look bad.
|
| |
this comment was not intended
|

I did not know people are so butthurt by the delayed Time albums. Does Jari in any way owe anything to you? I have been following the project since 2006 and know very well what was going on, personally met with Jari a few years ago as well. An Artist does not owe anything to his fans. Do not forget that fans proposed the crowdfunding campaign. You guys here are really narrow-minded and conservative, and I really have no words for those who support rather music labels (not saying labels are bad in general) than artists for the reason that the artist wants to release his art only in the way he envisions and not make a release for the release's sake. Do you really think that he is a scam and only after the money and once he got it he'll build himself a huge sauna and never release anything?
|
| |
K Jari.
|
| |
lol all of the comments supporting Wintersun in this shit are from new people. clearly fanboys who saw this thread and felt the need to create a profile and defend their hero. get your mouths off of his asshole.
|
| |
"Jari is super great, I don't know why you are all mad. He probably isn't even wasting the money, and even if I was I'll still release Time 2 eventaully"
|
| |
"Do not forget that fans proposed the crowdfunding campaign."
like i already said, theres nothing inherently wrong with crowdfunding, its the way Jari is going about things. way to conveniently sidestep the nuances of the situation.
|
| |
"Do you really think that he is a scam and only after the money and once he got it he'll build himself a huge sauna and never release anything?"
he'll release it. but yeah, he's proven himself to be a money hungry douche and his dumb fans are ok with it and even defend his shitty behavior.
|
| |
they don't owe us anything; we're just not interested in any more of his bs peddling since he's been making excuse after excuse for years and little-to-no progress to speak of :3
edit: ehh I wouldn't specifically call it "money grubbing" so much as just obnoxiously pedantic OCD-ness.
|
| |
My main concern is the straight up contrdiction of their main selling point: "we need a personal studio to release any music whatsoever". "How are we going to pay for this studio?" "Oh I know, we'll release 3 albums that ought to do it"...so why do they need the studio?
If you're a fan of the band presumably it's because of the music, so personally I couldn't care less if Time II comes out given that they're able to make many other albums that are not Time II without taking a quarter of a million Euros from their fans.
|
| |
Seems like the best thing for fans would be to play this out for as long as possible so Jari and co. will keep periodically releasing new albums in order to fund the studio.
|
| |
for like 8 years: "i cant finish the album because of computer problems that dont make any sense. i need more money from the label."
after Time I: "hey everyone. in order to keep making music, we need our own studio. with a sauna. give us 50$ for an album we made without our own studio and some useless extras."
|
| |
My favorite part of this was:
"Forest Seasons is done, 100% done! Ready to be released!"
"Guys, if we don't hit our crowdfunding goal, we won't be able to release Forest Seasons for possibly years :c"
Which is it, you goofy Finnish fuck
|

you have to be retarded to not see past his bullshit.

Holy shit everyone stop giving him money, if the crowdfunding doesn't work out Jari's releasing black metal
|
| |
The first crowdfund is already 100k over the goal, if it goes 150k over will he just not do the next phase?
We already know the answer.
|

Watching Jari constantly speak with his hands the way he does is pretty fucking grating
|
| |
he looks like hes doing a fucking infomercial.

Wasn't Jari's BM project before Ensiferum pretty good?
Also yeah the way he emotes with his face and hands is really strange, I wonder if he does that when he speaks Finnish.

so based on what he says in that video, you could conclude the reason they were able to do this album without their own studio is because it required a rawer sound. however, the Time albums need a big budget sound. well isnt that convenient. who wants to bet Forest Seasons and Time II will sound pretty similar in production?
also, if this one didnt require a big budget, why was he saying they needed a crowdfund to release it? isnt it supposed to be for Time II, the one that supposedly needs a big budget? and he said Forest Seasons was done anyways.
these are rhetorical questions obviously, the answer to everything is hes full of shit. i just enjoy poking holes in his stories.

"Guys, if we don't hit our crowdfunding goal, we won't be able to release Forest Seasons for possibly years :c"
I initially took that to mean that Nuclear Blast was maybe not going to let them put it out via crowdfunding, so they'd just hold onto it for who knows how long. Guesssss noooooooot.
|

So he's "officially" announced that they are a third of the way to their final goal. I don't know, I feel like most Wintersun fanboys have blown their load at this point and he's not going to make this amount again twice in quick succession.
|
| |
not for that same price, he isn't. Tho watch us dismiss the unlikely and then watch it happen all over again in two months. If they put out another record [somehow] and put it at like $20 I can see that working, though.
|
| |
I remember seeing somewhere that the other crowdfunds were going to be priced the same as this one (either in the video or description somewhere).
His estimates as to how many backers he'd need were all based on 50E donations
|
| |
Who the fuck is crazy enough the fund this band? The fucking singles they dropped in this video were horrible, I aint paying shit for that. I also aint paying 50 flipping euro's for something digital.
Still laughing about the private sauna thing for a while ago.
|
| |
apparently they're investing in waterproof equipment because jari actually wants to record from the sauna tub
|
| |
Jari is Skwizgaar confirmed
|
| |
ugh that means he *is* a god. :/
|
| |
"apparently they're investing in waterproof equipment because jari actually wants to record from the sauna tub"
where did you see this?
|
| |
someone looped the teaser for the album so it was 2 hours long and i dont know how i feel about that
|
| |
"apparently they're investing in waterproof equipment because jari actually wants to record from the sauna tub"
bwahahaha
|
| |
'where did you see this?'
it's just a conjecture but i wouldn't be at all surprised tbh
|
| |
Dang, that would have made the story even more delicious
|
| |
255K and still he asks for more plebian money
|
| |
"255K and still he asks for more plebian money"
Get with the program man, that's only a third of the goal!
|
| |
Oh i know their final goal but it's still just glorified groveling
|
| |
Now I wanna know how much Dan Swano's studio cost since I think it's in his house and he does loads of mixing/mastering and producing.
|
| |
Ever since making that Jari vs Skwizgaar comparison its struck me just how metalocalypse-ish this whole scenario really is
|
| |
Brendon Small's a prophet, clearly. Now we just have to wait for Corpsegrinder to run for governor.

I can't believe this is actually a concept. It goes beyond crowdfunding.
|
| |
Although I agree its a ridiculous new level of crowd funding and would never contribute to that, at least it feels a lot more honest and straightforward than Jari's BS.
|
| |
I don't see the problem with that one. Small reasonable goal, pretty awesome reward tiers that are priced well, and goes directly to making the album in a pre-existing studio.
|
| |
Patreon's a pretty cool concept. Take people who do things you like and pay them to be able to keep doing those things. I've only seen it used (thus far) for Youtube people, but it makes sense for musicians to use it too. At the very least uber fans will appreciate paying a couple bucks for behinds-the-scenes stuff not posted on facebook.
|
| |
With patreon you're contributing on a monthly basis though so those tiers add up really quickly
|
| |
yeah, but for uber fans it probably doesn't matter much.
Also I just watched the crowdfunding vid for the first time... and I honestly don't get why they need a studio; wherever/however they recorded this album, it sounds great. Maybe more bass than I'd like, but the sound quality is about as good as you'd want.
|
| |
Nono you don't understand, they need an entire studio built from the ground up just to handle Time II. It's going to be THAT good
|
| |
zak donated 100 quid lmao

Short notice to those who thought I was Jari or one of his (apparently multiple) fake accounts: No. While true that I comment very rarely and I am rather new to Sputnikmusic, I mainly use this Website to specifically search for (mostly) black metal using the Charts section and going back to check if I might have missed a good release at some point. I haven't even supported his campaign, still thinking if to do it.
Back to Topic: I actually kinda hope that there will be at least one more campaign like this, since it will generate more releases from them. And I am also really hoping for something bm-infused from them at some point.
|
| |
the charts are all wonky and not that accurate tho. Better to just lurk for the "my bm digs" user lists that pop up every other day.
|
| |
I actually kinda hope that there will be at least one more campaign like this, since it will generate more releases from them.
there are two more campaigns after this. also, if they don't reach the goal in each one, the studio doesn't get made, hence no releases. the risk to reward ratio in this campaign is fucking ridiculous.
|
| |
Do people get their money back if they don't meet?
|
| |
on the other campaigns yeah, on this one no, since they've already met their requirements.
|
| |
Do people get their money back if they don't meet?
here's the shady bit - he's masking the indiegogo campaign as payment for the album. if they don't reach the goal in future campaigns, you will be refunded for those campaigns, but not this one. so heaven knows what he'll do with the money from this campaign if the others don't work out. that is the reason i'm holding back at this point from giving the dude any money. he has shown nothing that says he can deliver things, and his track record is god damn terrible.
|
| |
I guess they'll have to *shiver* play shows and save up the rest of the money, maybe even get dayjobs in the meantime. Horrifying!
|
| |
but he "lives and breathes music"! how fucking trite.
|
| |
I know that the charts are not very "accurate". But by checking the top 50-100 bm releases of a year I think the really good releases are covered. I do click some bm-dig-lists from time to time. Still some things, like for example Glaciation, are very underrated here. Always happy for some good recommendations however.
|
| |
And as far as I understood, the studio is only connected to money. If they reach 750k in any number of campaigns (maximum 3 will be done) they will build it. hence my remark about hoping there will be more campaigns because their 750k goal could be reached already in this campaign and then it would be the only such campaign.
|
| |
^ and if they don't raise 750k...? let's say they get to 600k and no one wants to give more money? that's my concern. what'll they then do with that 600k?
