Very good song, I cannot wait until the album comes out. Most likely going to be my AOTY

Nice! I like the dual vocals, could do with harsher vocals although Marcel seems to have totally given up screaming
| |
Knew you’d be straight on this Steak lol
| |
Lmao I had to be, one of my favorites
Stay and Don't Lose Your Heart is going to be on the new album, so I already have a strong feeling that the album will rule m/

Are you gonna listen or not
| |
please and thank
| |
smh
| |
I really wish this band got more attention
| |
I want you to know that I thought you said you will not listen instead of now lmao
The guy who sings the chorus is my favorite vocalist
| |
Phew, we were about to get Steak "well done" for a sec haha
| |
I got to about medium well, shit was close
| |
Usually you blue
| |
Anybody who orders a steak well done is an idiot [2]
| |
"medium well is a good option for steak"
come to my restaurant and i'm serving you chicken, you're clearly not worthy of a beef option
| |
What are you talking about, we clearly exchange crack for meals.
| |
Okay, you can have steak now, we'll just ease you into rare and then blue before committing you to steak tartar forever
| |
Just bite the cow fam
| |
I want steak for dinner now
| |
man wtf is up with this production
| |
sorry Beardog, this is a steak thread now
| |
I think the production is fine, what do you find wrong with it?
| |
I love the guitar tone but the drums just sound so clacky, like every part of the kit has the same mid-frequency spectrum. it's extremely compressed and just sounds superfake to me. Maybe the drums are programmed, if they aren't, shame on the guy who produced this cause he could've saved a shitload of money just programming the kit cause the result is audibly the same... I've heard this kind of production on loads of other bands from this genre and it's really irritating
| |
There is a 99% they are triggered to all heck, that snare, which is an odd choice and what you are probably referring to as the clanky sound, is probably mostly a sample.
But you hit the nail right on the head IMO. These bands try so hard to make their kits sound like programmed drums. It doesn't make any sense. They trigger the heck out of the kicks, snares, and toms, just because that's what they think people want to hear, and in most cases they aren't wrong.
| |
I get what you mean Beardog, but I like the sound of the drums tbh. Sure they could be a little more raw, but I don't think it's detrimental to the overall sound
| |
Their lead guitarist is the one who does the production on their songs, and I think he does a fine job
| |
He's basically doing what EVERY other band is doing in the genre, maybe a tiny bit better but this sure sounds like a low-budget mix. Makes sense for a guitarist though, but I hate that mixes like these are becoming the norm in (modern) metal.
| |
I feel you, drums and drummers in general usually get the short stick in these types of bands. What you think of these vox tho?
| |
lead guitar @ 3:45 is cool
| |
I love the guitar yea

:O
| |
Fuuuuuuuuuuuck, who ever made this should most definitely not be a sound engineer. Song is average, but the mix is abysmal, especially the vocals and drums.
| |
I don't get the issue with the production at all, maybe I'm just used to it
| |
You've been listening to the original mix of Messengers waaaay too much haha
| |
Bruh I hate the original mix of Messengers lmao
| |
their last 2 albums were boss, this will be as well I'm sure.
| |
Oh shit art I didn't know you dug DoD m/
| |
I do, a lot.
My fav songs are Infinity, Innocence, and Violent Pictures (one of the most heart-rending acoustic ballads I've heard).
Haven't listened to this single yet. I might just wait. Don't Lose Your Heart was a good song back in the day, weird that's on here.
| |
One of my favorite bands dude, Zach Britt is my favorite clean vocalist easy. Yea it is rather weird Don’t Lose Your Heart is on here but I’m not complaining because that’s one of my favorite songs period
| |
That breakdown in Infinity makes me punch holes in walls. That shit costs me money.
| |
Tracks We Leave Behind tho, when Marcel hits those lows ooooooof
| |
@steak I don't really have a problem with the vocals, they sound decent, but the drums just fuck with the whole balance of the mix... The vocalists are pretty good though
| |
I still rock that Hope EP all the time, it's amazing. This isn't even the same band though, and not in a good way. They are okay.
| |
Hope was great. I remember hearing Dreambound for the first time and being upset with the mix. It was hard to tell what was going on. Now I can enjoy it for the sludge
| |
I mean they've only gotten better once they dropped the shitty electronicore influence imo
| |
I liked their first 3 releases. Couldn’t get into anything after Heartbound, probably because of the vocalist leaving the band
| |
Zach Britt is a thousand times better imo
That guy was actually touring with them for a bit recently because Zach was touring with Young Lions, they played a lot of older tracks
| |
I like Britt's cleans. Just wish Marcel sounded more like he did on Hope
| |
The songwriting is just objectively better on Hope.
I don't know who is doing what vocals for this band all I know is they sounded their best with dual vocalists often times singing over eachother on Hope.
| |
"The songwriting is just objectively better on Hope"
Disagreed hard. Hope is really good, but Loveless shits on it, as does most of everything they're written since Britt joined
| |
Hope was more technical
| |
But does technicality = better songwriting is the question
I also wouldn't even agree to Hope being more technical anyway
| |
The new single sounds good, just a bit weaker than the others released so far, but good. The chorus sounds very similar to the one on Stay, which is kinda bothering me a bit. No matter, still have high expectations from the new album.
| |
Yea I like the new song, I made a news article for it, just needs to be approved
| |
Oh so that's why I couldn't comment on the news! I thought it was my damn phone or something lol. I'm new here but I don't think I need to point that out haha
The other three singles are great and I think this alt-rock direction they're going towards really suits them.
| |
Lmao yea news articles must be approved before they're published. Welcome to sput bro :]
As much as I do like this direction, I hope they don't completely abandon the Loveless sound
| |
Thanks! I've actually been lurking here for some time but didn't feel the need to comment at all. Till now, that is.
I'm not big on Loveless but some songs like Hear Me Out are ace. Songs of Soulitude hit the sweet spot for me, at least when it comes to the heavy/melodic balance in the overall sound
| |
Loveless is a 5/5 for me, I like Songs of Solitude as well tho. I just love this band in general
