Hopesfall Reunites TSY-Era Lineup

2019-05-30 by decisions | 46 Comments
Post-hardcore band Hopesfall has announced the full reunion of the lineup that brought listeners The Satellite Years in 2002, which went on to be a renowned album in its genre for blending its aggressive elements with a celestial atmosphere.

The band announced that guitarist/backing vocalist Ryan Parrish would be joining them again on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/p/ByDoXjCAoZu/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Parrish played on the band's first three releases, including the landmark EP No Wings to Speak of. He is replacing guitarist Dustin Nadler, who played with the band on their previous three albums, A Types, Magnetic North and 2018's Arbiter. In an Instagram comment, guitarist Joshua Brigham stated that Nadler will be pursuing the construction of a music studio and a solo project.

Hopesfall announced this lineup change as part of a next phase of "musical endeavors", but no further details have been revealed at this time.

I love pretty much every release by the band. But this gets me super hyped because the guitars on TSY and NWTSO are just unreal. And perhaps he'll contribute vocally again as well.

not like Jay can scream like before. I'm predicting more of the same (hopefully!), but prob towards a more hardcore direction.

not really a reunion if all they did was switch their guitarist

it’ll be cool to hear something tsy esque that doesn’t sound like its recorded in a fucking trash can, tho as someone who’s kinda whatever on their old stuff and digs the shit out of magnetic north and arbiter i hope they don’t like deviate that far but i trust em

I like the production on The Satellite Years, sounds like it was recorded in space with makeshift equipment or something hahaha, but all the instruments are still clearly audible even if things are a bit muddy and compressed sounding.

I'm a latecomer to this band but I thought Arbiter ruled, so yeah if they deviate too far from that sound idk what to expect

@sailsaway

Why is this because they switched guitarists?? The band as a whole is not going to just jump in a time machine and make another TSY no matter how much you guys want.

Even when bands say they are going to make a new album with their 10 yr+ old sound it's never the same.

TSY is pretty legit but MN is the best think they have done, fight me!

Super stoked on the boys getting to go to Japan next year. I wonder now that Ryan is back in the band if they'll be playing more stuff from No Wings/TSY. Would love to hear Dead In Magazines or Escape Pod.

I wouldn't be surprised if a much different version of Hall Of The Sky ends up on the final album, kind of like the first version of Bird Flu.

It definitely feels like their plans have changed due to the pandemic, I doubt they just released Hall of the Sky with no intention of the rest of the music coming any time Sono.
