Hope I'm not the only one that thinks this is pretty lackluster

The last minute of the song was what I was looking for... but I enjoyed it overall. They weren't going to recreate the same sound from 20-30 years ago and its easy to hear that Devon's style has changed a lot. This has a dark atmosphere with some Deadsoul Tribe vibes. Even the vocal approach from Devon is different until that last minute.
It'll be interesting to see how this fits into the album.

New song? For real ?!?!
Jamming right now.
|
| |
no way!
|
| |
I could imagine this being an Avenged Sevenfold song
|
| |
I actually like it but I get the complaints. It sorta drifts in and out
|
| |
It's aight. I feel like whoever arranged this has been jamming a lot of Ghost.
|
| |
this is actually kind of lame wow
|
| |
Nah, that was solid.
|
| |
finally! i have been sitting on my own balls for 23 long years, waiting for discotic clots to release some new heppy petal
|
| |
for better or for worse
it was alright
|
| |
This is cool, looking forward to hearing their new material for sure.
|
| |
I wouldn't be surprised if this track opened the album.
|
| |
Anyone that has heard all of their albums shouldn't be too surprised by this song. It's basically a mash-up of all the styles they've dabbled with in the past.
|
| |
This is pretty good. I guess no one really expected they would go back to the sound of their magnum opus " A social grace". This is much more mellow but has a nice touch to it.
|
| |
Probably not on the level of most of their previous work, but still pretty good imho
|
| |
Sounds like something off Bleeding, pretty cool
|
| |
After 22 years expectations are indeed sky high, so this song might come off as a disappointment to some. I personally really liked it, has the vibes of Bleeding and Mosquito. Very atmospheric, especially the ending.

Yeah, pretty decent song. Psychotic Waltz's music has haunted many people. Now we want an one shot album by Fates Warning with Arch - Matheos - Zimmerman - Dibiase - Aresti. I'm listening these days to Awaken the Guardian Live (2017) and Arch's voice is similar to Buddy Lackey's in its prime. Unbelievable.

I know that's the Guardian line-up, but I'd still prefer that line-up with Zonder instead of Zimmerman. Zimmerman was great on those albums, and great on the live release, too... but Zonder is another level.
|
| |
Yeah, tbh that's pretty much my opinion too. What i meant is to make an album in the vein of Awaken... If it's with Zonder, so be it! But i'd like to be with Arch... I admire Ray and i follow Fates for about 20 years now, and i know you share this admiration, but, man, what i heard in Awaken-live was ear candy...
|
| |
Ray wouldn't do an album like Awaken anymore. His vocals aren't suited for that style these days, and i don't think he is into that style anymore anyway.
Also, got the promo today. I'm somewhere with shitty, spotty, internet so I haven't had a chance to listen fully yet since the download took so long... but I'm going to.

New track

Lul, clicked to reply on this and the site put up a porn pop up. Neat.
|
| |
@necropig, there's definitely some compromised pages on this site... the review for Nekrogoblikon's "Power" was consistently redirecting to some sketchy af porn site for me across multiple machines a few weeks ago

Really like the chorus
Digging: Cemetery Skyline - Nordic Gothic |
| |
still believe the album will rule despite not really caring for this song
|
| |
Yeah its nothing too special overall, but I'm liking the production
