Haken? More like Hekin Townsend.
| |
New song is good, love how heavy it is
| |
Hamen
It's heavy, but I'm nit feeling the songwriting tbh. Feels like it's missing a climax
| |
This is quite good. I was surprised by how much I liked it.
| |
are these guys any good? best place to start with them?
| |
new Haken is going to be fire
I'd say check The Mountain or Vector
| |
Haken are a good band.
If you like Dream Theater start with Visions. If you like stuff like Gentle Giant try The Mountain. If you're into djenty prog metal check Vector.

Coronavirus created by Haken to sell albums confirmed
| |
Haken and COVID-19 created by Corona to sell beers confirmed
| |
Yeah, it's called viral marketing.
| |
ha
| |
"Haken and COVID-19 created by Corona to sell beers confirmed"
omg if Haken sold out a little more they'd be a flavor at Starbucks lul
| |
Have they already sold out a little bit? Didn't know
| |
Nah
| |
That face when the two albums are the origin story for the Cockroach King...
| |
Really? Now I'm interested lul This sounds like madness which is cool because madness is proggy
| |
Yeah, Vector was the first half of the story and Virus is the conclusion.
| |
didn't love the chorus, felt like it could have been bigger. but instrumentally this was super solid.
| |
Yea the chorus melody is especially weak.
| |
lol foresight
| |
lol foreskin
| |
Song kicks ass. So happy there's more to Vector. Love that album.
| |
That bass is C H U N K Y
| |
this is good/fine
| |
I like them more with this heavier side. Vector was great
| |
just relistened to Vector for the first time in a while and yeah, it still bangs. I like the sense of theme you get from previous releases moreso, but Vector is probably their most approachable package for lacking it
| |
@Darius
The liner notes of both L-1VE and Vector thank fans for "helping spread the virus". This album has been named for at least that long.
| |
vector was outstanding and this new song is really really impressive. stoked for the record
| |
Love these guys, but not the best LP title at the moment.
| |
song fucking slaps, what an absolute riot
LP title is very hmmmmmmm
| |
i like how the chomky bass together with his voice creates a kind of growl simily
| |
Great song
| |
Love the song, though I hope they haven't overused that distortion effect.
| |
It's not the first time SH mate kills a previously published article. That's not nice.
| |
"Jennings also clarified that the title is completely coincidental and has nothing to do with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and lockdown"
lol yeah right
| |
"It's not the first time SH mate kills a previously published article. That's not nice."
I'm not sure when the first time was, and I'm sorry that it feels that way but there wasn't a published article when I posted this one.
Also, some madman posted a guitar cover of this like 6 hours ago. That's insane.
| |
song is AIDS

Not a big fan of the track, hoping the rest is better.
Regarding the title "Virus", it oddly does seem to have been in the works for a while. Like cfbassist says, it references "the virus" in the liner notes, they have clearly been fixated on this theme of illness with the last singles "Good Doctor" and "Cell Divides." Weird coincidence for sure.
| |
was gonna mention that
their last album is called 'vector' too (like in epidemiology)
| |
I slept on Vector so this is the first Vector I've heard since affinity.
Really digging the heavier feel, good track.
| |

| |
I wanna sleep with Vector tbh

Vector > Vektor agreed

Got some heavy Townsend vibes from some parts on that new track. Me likey.
| |
track bangs good omg
| |
Great song, and the alignment of this album and the virus right now is just uncanny.
| |
I still think the song is lacking. Everything off Vector was memorable and catchy. This one just isn't. It's heavy, but that's it. Chorus melody is lacking
| |
Interesting how most of this was written in the same period as Vector
| |
Yea, right? I wonder how they decided which song ends up on which album. Wouldn't be such a sucker for Vector if this was on it tbh
| |
I wouldn't be disappointed if this was on vector
| |
Vector is still missing a real closing track. I wonder whether or not this one will have one
| |
New song is out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJQy1Waj_cY&t=0s
| |
Liked it much more than Prosthetic
| |
New track is amazing
| |
Yeah much better than the previous one, great song in my opinion.
| |
i didn't love Ross in the chorus but other than that really great song
| |
yes, absolutely
| |
liked Canary Yellow significantly more on the 2nd listen, i love this band
| |
New record is shaping up to be great so far.
