I think all rock operas are inherently corny as fuck, but it's forgivable if they're fun, which Butch almost always is, so it's forgivable.

I really like Flyover State even though it samples the motherfucking Lion King. The rest ranged from tolerable no frills fun to downright horrendous. Would be a fun album to review but I probably won't simply because I've never listened to a Butch Walker album in full before.

Ha! Yeah, I hated that Flyover State chorus. I'm thinking about reviewing this, but let's see how I feel in a week.

You'd be the man for it, so go for it if inspiration strikes. Normally I love grandiose rock operas so we'll see if this gets better in time lol. The lyrics were pretty cringey at times even if the message was coming from the right place. But again, a rock opera lol. I should probably lower my expectations.

I dug Butch's last record, even reviewed it, but this album seems to be pretty self indulgent and preachy, penned to virtue signal to your neighborhood social justice warriors.
