Now THIS is more like it!

neat

Missing them Good Buddy Elliot harsh vox still
|
| |
My main concern is how layered the vocal overdubs are. It makes Elliot's vocal parts impossible to perform live without backing tracks and, while I have nothing against backing tracks per se, I think the band would benefit from a more stripped down and raw approach. They can rock pretty hard so why bury it under layers of overdubs?
|
| |
^^^^agreed. His vocals are already strong enough on their own
|
| |
Preferred the first single, but this was good too.
|
| |
yeah where are Elliot's harshes and why did they decide they weren't necessary
|
| |
Elliot doesnt like to do them anymore. He said he doesnt sound good.
About the track... its reaaaally good. It mashes the good instrumentation from the first album and the "approachable" characteristics of the second one

| |
Great song.
|
| |
Obligatory "Bring back The Safety Fire"
|
| |
Ohhh this is nice
|

Sounds like a lethargic Mars Volta,
|
| |
Pretty cool song
|
| |
"Sounds like a lethargic Mars Volta"
So you mean this sounds like Octahedron
|
| |
Fuck the Safety Fire!
|
| |
"Elliot doesnt like to do them anymore. He said he doesnt sound good."
hate when singers do that, I remember Dead Poetic pulling something similar after New Medicines which was an absolute gem
anyway I remember not liking the last album much but this honestly slaps. production makes this feel more lush and textured than most swancore -- if the new album has a little bit of variety I'll be alllllll over this
