New Autechre Album

2020-10-07 by Avagantamos | 13 Comments
Experimental electronic icons Rob Brown and Sean Booth are back with another collection of beeps, boops, and clicks. Over the past few years, autechre fans have been treated to a series of releases increasing exponentially in length, with 2018's NTS sessions clocking in at 8 hours total. However, Autechre's new album SIGN is a relatively brief 65 minutes, making it their shortest album since 2003's Draft 7.30; although earlier in the year, the duo indicated that they had two albums recorded, so there may be more to come in the next few months.

SIGN will be streaming at https://autechre.warp.net/ starting 21:00 BST / 16:00 EDT on 8 October, 2020, with a physical release a week later on the 16th.

Some of Exai was pretty good but that's the last of their stuff I've heard - I'll probably check this with tempered expectations.

a bit off topic, but if anyone was left hungry for some untilted/exai-esque bangers, Richard Devine has a new EP coming next month that might tide you over. I also recommend exploring his back catalogue for any fans of post-2000 Autechre.
