The lads remain in their comfort zone, but the song is enjoyable.

Being a former operater, I can wholeheartedly say that devotion IS measured in blood. I'd like to see this guy downrange. I love how people who have never seen combat, from countries who remain neutral in just about every conflict, talk about the violence of war. It's official, fuck this band.

2:01 I thought he was saying "I'm a walking cocks"

"The lack of direction and guidance in society is turning younger generations into violent and destructive creatures ... because they are living in an age where bullies are kings and the rest are prey.”
A bit on the nose huh?

I think you'd like this band called Five Finger Death Punch

So.. musically speaking, this is about the lowest common denominator for me. I will say that listening to a lot of modern prog probably dilutes my expectations for the more softer rock/prog these days. Still, i geniuinely thought there other stuff was better.

I care about people. I helped and continue to help people. I was never a bully, never hurt anyone that didn't try to hurt me first. Most will never understand the balance... And I can't stand FFDP, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, and all the other movie cliches that you enjoy.
|
| |
Nothing says "I care about people" quite like threatening to shoot someone for sport.
|
| |
Being downrange doesn't meant killing someone. It means seeing active combat, which I'm sure he never has. By that standard, I feel he has no right to talk about any measurement of loss due to war.
Thanks for your respect and gratitude for service.

people who don't fight in wars aren't allowed to have opinions on them agreed
|
| |
while we're at it, you can't say slavery is bad if you've never been a slave and you can't have an opinion on rape if you've never been raped
|
| |
It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be....
War is the ultimate game because war is at last a forcing of the unity of existence. War is god.
|
| |
Ah I interpreted it to mean like on the target end of a shooting range, the implication of that being obvious. My mistake.
That being said, loss comes in many forms, and while he has likely never had to experience loss due to war, he has every right to be upset by loss experienced by others due to war. It's a common expression of empathy.

Freedom of speech is an awesome thing. Everyone is free to say what they want to say. I fought for what that represents. All I'm saying, is that a Swedish metal vocalist probably hasn't experienced the same loss as some. Via freedom of speech, my personal opinion is that he shouldn't touch on something he doesn't fully understand.

You don't need to have experienced war, slavery, or rape to not like them dude.
|
| |
self-righteous toy soldiers like you are what give the military a bad name
|
| |
More like: "How can you, as an american who has never lived in North Korea, evaluate and touch topics on the concept of freedom of speech?"
|
| |
> I fought for what that represents.
Dude, fighting in a war for free speech sounds awesome! How did you do that?
|
| |
This new Volbeat song is really something else.
|
| |
These comments are pretty haha hoohoo

Just because a man has never fought in war doesn't mean he can't experience the same loss or have feelings/opinions towards it. There are people on the other side of the iron sight and those people have families too. They just have a different perspective then you.

I like this a lot

Song is fine but this band's sound is beginning to get a little stale.
Also holy god this thread is an utter dumpster fire.
|

Lmao this is so cringe

"Song is fine but this band's sound is beginning to get a little stale."
I though the first single was pretty different to their usual stuff, had a more rough and gritty sound to it. Anyway, the album is shaping up to be another banger.

I sincerely hope the production is better than this sounds, because the drums sound horrendous. Lotus was immaculately producted and the "revisited" Lykaia was much better than the original. I hope this isn't a reversion back to pre-Lykaia Revisited production.

"I though the first single was pretty different to their usual stuff"
I've just listened to the first single and it's definitely a little more left-field for this band. Hopefully there's enough of that on the album, I've been a big fan of these guys since Tellurian and it'd suck to see them start releasing by-the-numbers albums.

Love the djenty riffs
