Are metal bands even capable of making a good music video or are their tiny primordial peanut brains only capable of thinking up different ways to make a guitar go CHUGGACHUGGA

I actually really dug that song. I hope this album is under an hour, my fav Gojira album is actually Magma, mainly b/c it’s the shortest one. I’ve struggled to get into this band, they have a unique sound but it’s not one I want to listen to for long periods of time.

Mix didn't bug me but the song itself is a bit underwhelming, doesn't hit nearly as hard as anything off FMtS or TWoAF and doesn't have any big hooks like the singles off Magma. Not bad but hopefully the rest of the album does more to set itself apart

There are some riffs in this song that 100% rival some shit on their old stuff, but the mixing is a bit muddy that it takes away from some of the abrasiveness. I don't necessarily dislike the mix, it has an old school metal feel to me which is a bit refreshing.

I'd say I'm pretty excited for this release. The artwork is creepy in a Hereditary "Hail Paimon" kind of way.

i liked everything about this. much better than another world which i was hoping wouldn't be on the album. The mixing i'm unsure about (the vocals are lower than usual, the guitars a bit muddier) but we'll see how it all sounds in the end. pretty stoked

Not sure what y'all are hearing that makes the mix bad. Listened on a couple different speakers now and it sounds pretty good to me. It definitely pales in comparison to TWoaF (which IMO has some of the best production on any metal album ever) but it's not offensive by any means.

Production aside, I'm really digging this song. Probably in the minority on this one, but I think I prefer this single and Another World to anything from Magma.

"Are you all getting fooled by poor YouTube quality? Mix sounds fine on Spotify?"

Been listening to this and the other single via Apple Music and the mix still feel too geared towards the low end. The guitars, vocals and cymbals all wash out and need more depth. I don't know. There's some guys on here that are definitely more tech focused on recordings and bitrates than me - but these two tracks could be massive if they brought some of the other stuff up a little.

Yeah, with all the technologies they invent, there should be some kind of trick or button that would allow us to stop listening to an album before it reaches its end. Or better, a way to select the track we want to listen to would be absolutely awesome. Because sometimes, it's really hard to just go through all the tracks one by one up until the end. And sometimes you just feel like listening to the same track several times in a row. I don't mean to anger anybody but I must admit that having to listen to the whole album entirely each time is a bit bothersome.

Or maybe the problem is that Gojira are not a band that should be making 60+ minute albums.

Was this video supposed to convey something? Didn't click with me.
Song's alright. So far, I liked Magma more because of its concept revolving around the passing of Joe and Mario's mother leaving this sad, emotional undertone that slowly seeps through under the heaviness; I think it's a pretty effective portrayal.
I predict 3.5s here if there aren't enough stronger tracks.
