I really enjoyed their recent EP, this is merely ok.
|
| |
Holy shit i can actually hear the guitar
|
| |

|
| |
Mix is pretty shit. Was really hoping they would step up their game in that regard.
|
| |
Making a note to check because their last EP with the new vocalist ruled
|
| |
this song title just makes me miss job for a cowboy even more. they were so good before they faded into nothing.
|
| |
Beats me.. really don't get the hype with this band.
|
| |
This hurts my face, boy I really hates it
|
| |
this reminded me that JFAC haven't released fuck all since sun eater
|

band ran out of ideas after flesh coffin. this is just boring and the mix is hideous
|
| |

"SUN

Replace one of those words with WORLD and you have one of the best DM tracks ever.
|
| |
disappointing, just more To the Hellfire, album going to be real boring
|
| |
Overhyped band

Damn this shit actually hurt my ears lol
|
| |
Every one of their songs has the same structure:
- Symphonic intro
- Black metal inspired beginning
- "Surprising" sudden low-growled breakdown
- Back to the black metal stuff
- Random guitar solo
- Abrupt silence with isolated vocal callout stuff
- SUPER HEAVY CRUSH YOUR NUTS breakdown (with sUpEr WeIrD gurgles)
- Return to the black metal stuff for a sec or two
It's just the opposite of creative or unpredictable these days. Bummer that the band and Will have to continuously figure out how to write 5+ minute songs with microphone deep-throating gimmicks just to get that reaction channel shock-porn exposure. Pass.
|
| |
Their songs have everything yet nothing.
There’s so much going on that it’s hard to really latch on to a melody or riff, and the vocal patterns and choruses just seen all over the place.
The vocalist has crazy range though.
|
| |
The pads/strings/vocals/lead guitar are up in your face but the other guitars/bass/drummer are swallowed alive. What a mix.
Song itself isn't as bad as I was expecting but I'm tired of the cheesy orchestral bits, I never never in my life heard that and not cringed. I just think of Dimmu and giggle lol. Never works for me, never adds gravitas or suspense, just sounds like a band taking itself too seriously. Metal bands: pls no symphonics
Sorry symphonic dm and bm heads :"(

This is super accurate lol. But they’re still fun for me

Job For A Cowboy called, they want their album title back.
|
| |
i got into Belphegor lately because I wanted to reacquaint myself with proper blackened death after hearing one of these blackened dxcx bands really badly implement bm into their deathcore without doing anything to make the two mesh, and this is another good example of that.
|
| |
Can’t hear a thing going on.
|
| |
yeah i have no clue why they have the drums like that and guitars so low, this isn't Fleshgod Apocalypse.
|
| |
This band is just a snooze button now, damn. Been writing the same exact songs since at least Flesh Coffin, just with different vocalists every album
|
| |
Jesus Teal, what a scathing take lol
|
| |
To the Hellfire 2.0. Boring.
|
| |
I enjoy these guys but the criticism is very accurate. They really only have one way of approaching a song and at this point the tracks sound nearly identical. If they don't throw some curveballs into the album it will get old very fast.
And seriously, can they get someone who can mix their fucking songs well? Such a busy sound and it's hard to appreciate any of the individual elements when their positions in the mix are all over the place.
|
| |
I really think that this style only works in the EP format. An album is way too long (and supposed to be varied) to listen to ten tracks of this crap.
|
| |
"Their songs have everything yet nothing.

Agree 100%
Musically they're just.. okay I guess. We all like what we like it's not that but they're not that interesting to me. These deathcore/black metal hybrids (starting with Carnifex, who I used to enjoy). The orchestral bits are fine, but those too are all "heard before" at this point. Like nothing about this stands out to me.
And the vocals.. ugh they're so grating. I understand he has great range but what's the point? They don't blend in the music it's seems like an exercise in vocal range or just flexing. look how far i can go! okay I guess but you still need to write a compelling song.
Also what user Teal said: LOL :D yes that's exactly the issue i have hahah
|
| |
I just wanna hear the instruments goddammit, why even learn these technical parts if nobody can hear what's going on?
|
| |
Soulless
|
| |
Teal roasted these dudes hahaha
|
| |
Well played, Teal. There's some good deathcore out there, but this band is hideously garbo.
|
| |
This is awful lol
|
| |
Band does nothing for me. Don't understand the hype. They just get good Hot Topic marketing or what?
|
| |
Reaction videos 🤪
|
| |
They're just feeding off the To the Hellfire success at this point
|
| |
hahaha teal is right
|
| |
All riffs, no transitions. All moments, no connection.
